  • A Document Camera Please!

    Funded Mar 18, 2014

Thank you so much for your donation. The document camera has been a very useful tool in my classroom. My students were amazed at what it could do. The first time I set it up to show some students work I heard lots of ooohs and aaahs. They thought it was so cool and frankly so did I. Now that I have this document camera I don't know how I taught this long without it. I use it practically everyday in the classroom. The students love when I use it during a read aloud because they can see the words and pictures magnified. I use it when we are working on any worksheet so students can see what they have to do. When we are doing math I can use it to show the math page and go over the problems. This has been a great tool to use in my teaching and I think it has really helped my students get them more excited about what we are learning. Thank you so much for helping make this project a reality!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Arevalo

  • First Graders Need GOOD Stuff!

    Funded Dec 5, 2013

Thank you so much for your donations. My students were so excited when I opened the boxes and they saw all the goodies for our classroom. They wanted to open everything right away! Now our class had brand new crayons, markers, glue , dry erase markers, and pencils. My students love to draw and create things.

We have put these materials to good use already. As a class we made a snowman art project and my students have been excited about choice time now that we have art materials for them to use to draw wonderful pictures.

It may sound like these items are so simple but many of my students don't even have pencils let alone crayons and markers at home. The little things mean so much to them. Thank you so much for making them so happy.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Arevalo

  • Nonfiction Leveled Library Needed

    Funded Dec 29, 2013

Thank you so much for your donations. Thanks to you I have a great nonfiction leveled library that my students will have access to. My first graders all read on different levels which is why this nonfiction leveled library was so important. Now all of my students will have nonfiction books on their reading level that they can read and learn from.

When I showed my students the books they were so excited and couldn't wait to start reading. Having books on their level has boosted their self esteem and has made them want to read more and learn about all the different topics.

Thanks you so much for generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Arevalo

  • Paper and Ink Needed

    Funded Dec 13, 2013

Thank you so much for your donations of paper and ink to our classroom. My students were so excited to receive something as simple as paper. They love to draw and print activities and pictures from our computer.

My students have used these resources to type their stories on the computer and print them into real books. With ink and paper I have been able to print worksheets and games for my students to use and practice to help improve their academic skills.

Once again thank you so much for your kindness!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Arevalo

  • First Grade Needs a Printer!

    Funded May 31, 2013

Thank you so much for your donations to our classroom. Thanks to you my classroom now has a printer that my students can use to print pictures, worksheets, activities and games from our computer. My students were so excited to see our new printer and could not wait to use it. They love to be creative. They love to write stories. With this new printer, my students are able to type their stories on the computer and print out a real book. I have been able to use our printer to create newsletters for parents and important memos. This computer is something that we really needed. Once again thank you so much for your generosity!”

  • Technology for First Graders

    Funded Jan 29, 2013

I want to express my gratitude for your generosity. My school has a limited budget. Computers are very expensive therefore many classrooms do not have them. My students love going online to play educational games to help improve their reading and math skills. Thanks to you we were able to get a laptop computer that my students can use to play ABC games, watch educational videos, play learning games, and research different topics. We also got a document camera and the children love looking at each others work. Now I am able to turn any book into a big book. Thank you so much for your donation it really means a lot to us.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Arevalo

  • First Graders Love Learning Centers

    Funded Jan 28, 2013

I would like to express my gratitude for you generosity. The funds in my school are very limited so your donation is much needed. My students were so excited when we received boxes filled with puzzles, play dough, learning games, glue sticks, listening center activities, and legos. These games and supplies have been used to help my students develop creatively as well as helping them improve their reading and listening skills. Their little faces lit up when they saw all the goodies and it's all thanks to you. Once again thank you so much for your donation.”

  • All We Need Is Paper & Ink To Be Happy!

    Funded May 21, 2012

Thank you so much for your donation. Because of your help I was able to get paper and printer ink. These items may seem unimportant but they are very important to me and my students. Something as basic as paper is very scarce in my school and because of you I am able to make needed copies for my students, write news letters to parents, my students can print pictures and worksheets from the computer. My students have paper to make cards and drawings to share with their families. Once again thank you for your generosity. It is greatly appreciated.”

  • First Graders Need Fun Games And Goodies

    Funded Jan 3, 2012

I would like to sincerely thank you for your generous donation that ultimately funded my project. My students are so excited. They really are eager learners who love to play literacy games to improve their reading skills. They also love to create art projects based on books we have read. The simplest things make them so happy. They are especially excited about the cool new pencil sharpener. Having a sharp point on their pencil is so important to them. Finally we have a listening center where the students can listen to their favorite stories. You don't know how happy you have made my students. So once again I would like to thank you for helping my students and making them so happy.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Arevalo

  • Wanted: Supplies, Supplies, Supplies!

    Funded Dec 31, 2010

This is just a letter to thank you so much for your generous donations. The pencil sharpeners and seat sacks you donated have been a tremendous gift to us. I know it doesn't seem like much but we really appreciate it. Before my students had these seat sacks they put all their stuff underneath their chairs and it became so messy. Their things would fall all over the floor. Now they have a place to store their belongings neatly and they really love having them. The sharpener has been very much in need and a necessity.

Our school budget is very minimal and supplies are limited so its really great that you cared enough to help out. without people like you many classroom would not have the supplies they need.

once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Arevalo

A computer in the first grade will be so exciting! I am a first grade teacher in Spanish Harlem, N.Y. Most of my students live in shelters and their families are low income. A lot of the families do not have computers at home. My classroom has internet access but I do not have a computer. I would love to have access to educational games for my students. I can research questions that my students have about specific topics and when we study animals they can get pictures and cool information on the web.
