Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity to engage in food education with the students of PS 811 at the PS 28 Robin Hood Library. Families are so excited to expose their students to healthy and nutritious foods. This is going to be a life changing project. Thank you!”

    Ms. Ginsberg

  • Help Make Our Garden Grow!

    Funded May 8, 2024

We cannot wait to water our plants and watch them grow! Our students will be so happy to have a sprayer that will help distribute the water evenly to all our garden and also be able to properly store the hose when finished so that no ok trips and the area is clear! Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ginsberg

  • Expanding Creativity at Home and In the Classroom

    Funded Dec 15, 2007

Thank you so much for funding my proposal. I feel that this book will really open my students eyes to the creative thinking they can do at home or at any environment they are in. I am going to create a bulletin board where kids can post what they have been doing at home based on this book. Thank you for boosting creativity in second graders”

  • Going to the Farm

    Funded Jun 22, 2005

I can not thank you enough for helping my children have this wonderful experience. Whether it is learning how the cow "Sweet Lips" is milked, taking a bumpy hayride where they can see acres of farm gardens, breathing the fresh air, or picking up chickens we will be so grateful for this opportunity. The pictures will be great! Thank you again, and you will hear from us soon”

  • A bright and clean new carpet needed for a kindergarten classroom

    Funded Jun 21, 2004

I am so excited about this carpet, thank you so much! This carpet will provide a nurturing space for my children to learn, grow and play. I will have it just in time for my new class in September! This was so generous of you and is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks again,

Ms. G and the future K-105 students”

    With gratitude,

I began my teaching career in Harlem in 2001. Fifteen years later, and I have found my home at our school library in Washington Heights! The vision I have for our library is: "To foster a community of learning and literacy that leads to high academic achievement, independent reading and learning, and collaboration throughout the school."The library is the literacy hub in the building where every child and teacher visit and borrow books every other week. We have had the top circulation in our district for many years! We have family hours on Tuesdays, and we also even have a "Baby Library" for the siblings of our students to foster a love of reading from birth (or even in utero!). Please join me in my quest to keep my students engaged in and loving reading, and to quench what can be described as an "information desert" (or lack of easy access to information and quality literature) in our community.
