Listen, I'm Reading!
Funded Nov 23, 2015Going to the Computer Lab is something my students have always looked forward to. Our school recently purchased several new programs to enhance our current reading program. One of these programs has a component where the students actually record themselves reading. This is a great feature as it gives the teacher, the student, AND the parents a sample of where the child is at the beginning of the school year and tracks their oral reading progress.
My students are anxious to begin using the new headphones. They can't wait to hear recordings of themselves reading aloud. They are excited that they will each have their own set to use every time we use the computers.
I am thankful that you have taken the time to help fund this project. The headphones will enable every child in my classroom to be able to utilize the new computer programs to its fullest . With these headphones, I now have a tool to help me track and record reading fluency.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools and 3 other donors. One Size Does NOT Fit All
Funded Sep 23, 2014Thank you so much for your support in funding my project through Donor's Choose. I wish you could have seen the excitement in my students' faces when the boxes were delivered to our classroom. They could not wait to try out our new supplies.
Your donation included magazine holders which the students use to keep their workbooks and writing journals. By having their books ON their desks, they are more easily accessible. This helps eliminate the "I can't find my book in my desk", thus producing more time to focus on the lesson. The privacy partitions are another tool we use to help us focus on our work.
I was thrilled to receive my new media cart. Technology is a necessity in my classroom. I'm using the cart to hold my document camera and projector. Having the cart makes it easier to move and use my equipment when and where I need it.”
With gratitude,
Ms. R.Ingalsbe
