  • Reading, Writing, 'Rithmetic

    Funded Aug 4, 2024

My students love working with each other. They look forward to showing off their newly learned skills . Your generosity ensures that I can provide meaningful learning centers for ALL of my students.

The look of awe from my students as the boxes of supplies began to arrive to our classroom was priceless! They couldn't believe that people, such as yourselves, would send necessary materials for them to have and use!

They are especially grateful, and excited about having styluses for use with their ipads. This will certainly help with manipulating the various apps they will use this year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. R.Ingalsbe

  • Play It Again, Sam

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

First of all, thank you so much for your interest in my project and my students. They were so excited when I explained that generous people, like yourselves, had funded our project. When the boxes started to come in, they could hardly wait to tear into them!

Second, since covid hit, I noticed how my students had a hard time socializing with each other. It is so refreshing to have new playground equipment available for my students to play with and share with others.

Last, my students are learning great social skills through play. They have been enjoying showing off their "skills" in jumping rope, soccer and basketball. They are communicating with each other more. They are learning to share and to play more fairly. This is all due to your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

  • Hocus, Pocus, Help Us Focus!

    Funded Jul 18, 2023

My students have always looked forward to getting onto their iPads at school. Our district recently purchased new iPads for our classrooms. We will use them for our Benchmark testing throughout the year. There are other apps that we will use them for as well.

My students are anxious to begin using the new headphones. They are excited that they will each have their own set to use every time we use the tablets. The headphones will help them stay focused on the activity they are working on.

I am thankful that you have taken the time to help fund this project. The headphones will enable every child in my classroom to be able to utilize the new computer programs to its fullest . The storage bags will keep their headphones and styluses organized.”

  • Supplies, Surprise, Supplies!!

    Funded Nov 5, 2022

My students love sharing their work with others. We usually do a thematic writing activity and some type of artwork. The students look forward to showing off their skills as they break into their new school supplies for the first time. Unfortunately, not all of my students come to school with those basic supplies. Your generosity ensures that ALL of my students will have the supplies they need throughout this school year!

The look of awe from my students as the boxes of supplies began to arrive to our classroom was priceless! They couldn't believe that people, such as yourselves, would send necessary school supplies for them to have and use!

They are grateful to be able to have the supplies they will need to have a successful school year.”

  • Put Us In Code Mode!

    Funded Sep 18, 2022

Thank you seems like such a small way of showing appreciation for your donation to my project! My students were so excited to receive our new STEM bots. They have learned how to work with one another, collaborate ideas, and create plans for their bots. They love when we are able to get the bots out during class time. Coding the bots to do what the students want has been a great way to show what they've learned. They have enjoyed creating paths that the bot must follow and they get so excited when the bot completes its task. My students LOVE the bots!!”

    Funded Jul 17, 2022

The first week of school is filled with "Getting to Know You" activities. These are usually made up of writing and some type of artwork. The students look forward to showing off their skills as they break into their new school supplies for the first time. Unfortunately, not all of my students come to school with those basic supplies.

  • It's Not How You Start but, How You Finish!

    Funded Feb 15, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations and your interest in my students and classroom. When the boxes started to arrive, my students got so excited! They were thrilled to see the writing paper but, more excited about the art supplies!

We will use our new supplies to help finish off our school year. We look forward to writing some great stories, and then creating beautiful artwork to go along with them.

It is gratifying to know that donors, like yourselves, value education and are willing to support it. My students now have the necessary supplies to end a successful year. We can't wait to get started!”

  • Reading Is Fun-damental

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

Thank you for your donations! My students and I are excited about our new supplies. They love the new leveled readers that we have. They are enjoying having books that they can read on their own!

The word puzzles and building blocks are going to be a great resource to help reinforce reading and spelling. Students will be challenged to sound out new words, plus, practice sight words.

The math games we received look to be a lot of fun! My students can't wait to interact and play with them. This is just another way to practice and improve their math skills.”

  • Let's Manipulate Math!

    Funded Apr 1, 2021

Thank you so much for your donations and your interest in my classroom. My students were so excited when they heard the great news, especially when the boxes started to arrive.

My students and I started this school year meeting virtually and it had been difficult for my kiddos to grasp mathematical concepts that way. We have returned, in person, to the classroom. These manipulatives have been very helpful in presenting new concepts. They have afforded my students a more "hands-on" approach to learning which they need at this level.

The math games have been a hit! They have been a fun way for my "Firsties" to show what they have learned. Thank you, again, for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. R.Ingalsbe

I teach first grade in a large, urban school district. My school is a Title 1 school. My students come from a variety of ethnic and low socio-economic backgrounds. We have a high ELL population. Last year, unfortunately, our school was labeled as a "failing school" due to low state test scores. Despite the challenges our students face, our students, parents, and staff work together to give them the best possible education they deserve. Space is a luxury in my classroom. Most of my students' desks are arranged into cooperative groups. Some of my students, however, need and work better by themselves. Some just need more space that allows them to move a little more, but won't disturb someone else's learning. Because my students' needs are so varied, I have had to be more creative with my classroom setup. I am constantly having to move students around, trying to find that "perfect" fit.
