Active Bodies Means Active Minds
Funded Mar 27, 2018The students were so excited to receive these classroom materials. We opened them up right away and started using them!
Gym has become an amazing time of day. They love the hop along balls. They race each other and practice keeping balance. The beanbag center is a great choice for them as well. They love tossing the beanbags into the correct nets. We switch off between the colors, shapes and letters. These are helping with their concept recognition!
The sand has been great too. We used the blue sand for our water unit and now the tan sand is used for our desert!
The kids are having a blast with these materials.”

Funded Dec 29, 2017The students love the light table. They enjoy changing the color of the light and making it flash. They explore it by placing different materials on it. They love seeing how the light shines through certain materials. They experiment with sand and try to make shapes and letters. The students are learning a lot! The science chest has also been quite beneficial to their learning. For our, "Where We Live" unit the students used the materials to create insect homes. For our "Light" unit, the students explored the Prism, used the flashlight with different materials, and Explored the bears and mirrors. They are learning so much! We are looking forward to exploring materials for our "Water" unit!”

Funded May 10, 2017The students immediately were looking at themselves in the mirror. They love it! When they are playing in the kitchen and dressing up they glance in the mirror to see how they look. They can easily find a costume to wear because of the organization of the hooks and shelves. I've noticed they're using the dress up clothes more often now because they are more easily accessible. This month we are learning about transitions and becoming grown up. They are excited to dress like adults. The dramatic play area is so much neater now. The children easily hang up the clothes and put accessories on the shelves. Thank you so much for these generous donations. You have made our classroom a better place for learning!”

Funded Apr 4, 2017Thank you for the water tubes and droppers. The students were thrilled when this came to our classroom. They couldn't wait for us to add it to our water sensory bin. The students love exploring the water and how it moves. They love dancing with the wrist ribbons during music and movement. They get so excited and become less shy.
They love insects and are fascinated by the real bugs in the science center. They use the magnifying glasses to observe. They love to pretend.
Thank you so much for your generosity!”

Pre-K Moves and Motions
Funded Apr 4, 2017The children enjoy working together and setting up the stepping stones in order from 1 through 20. The children love balancing on the stones. They pretend they're climbing on rocks. They enjoy using the traffic signs when they play as well. They use them as they ride the tricycles. They have a blast. The rain sticks are also a fun accessory for dancing and movement time. They love the sound of rain. Thank you donors for your generous donations. You have brought so much fun to my students.”

Funded Dec 31, 2015Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. Your generosity and kind words are greatly appreciated. When my students saw the many boxes show up in our room, they were ecstatic. They couldn't wait to see the contents. They were particularly excited about the table top easel because it had a chalkboard side. The gym equipment also got a great reaction, particularly the number of balls. They couldn't wait to use everything!
We began using the supplies right away. The students each helped carry all the gym equipment to gym. Each of them were able to have a ball after we blew them up. They have been practicing a good hula hoop technique! During our transportation unit, the file folders reinforced math and shape concepts. They love drawing/painting different types of transportation on the easel.
The art drying rack helps a lot too. They can independently bring their finished pieces to dry on it.
Now two or more students at a time can listen to a story together which they love at the listening center! Their experiences in class have truly been fantastic for them.
Our class has now begun our next unit on light. We are excited to continue using our easel and creating pieces to dry on a drying rack. The students just worked on dark/light pictures using ripped white paper on black paper, after reading Roundtrip by Ann Jonas. The students will continue having a "ball" at gym with all of their new equipment!
Once again, I would like to say thank you all so much. My students and I truly appreciate it.”

Pre K: A Foundation For Learning!
Funded Dec 27, 2014The students were so excited when the resources arrived. They said the dress up clothes were beautiful. Before the clothes arrived, we only had boy dress up clothes. They couldn't wait to dress like ladies. They said that the vet kit was so cute. They said that they couldn't wait to pretend to be a Veterinarian. They couldn't wait to "treat" our stuffed animals! As soon as they saw the toy housekeeping supplies they said that they wanted to clean up the mess!
When they saw the Science kits, they said they couldn't wait to explore being a scientist.
The resources are used everyday. During choice time the students explore one of the science kits. This week they are exploring color and light. Their eyes light up as they look at items with the flashlight. Some students choose to pretend being a Veterinarian and act like a doctor! They make our stuffed animals feel better. At the end of the day they use the mop and broom to help "clean up"!
This project had a big effect on my teaching and my students learning experience. As a teacher the resources give my teaching added visuals and reinforcements. I feel like they have a richer experience. They have more choices during center time to explore dramatic play and explore science topics. They are having so much fun because of the extra resources. They are learning more.”
