Growing Plants with the HYDROPONICS METHOD!!
Funded Jul 30, 2021My students are learning all about plants. Students learned about what plants need, their life cycle and different plant parts.
We created a zip-loc bag greenhouse for bean seeds, we planted seeds in soil and we set up this "Hydroponics Growing System". Students were so excited to see this planting system. Students helped me fill it with water and place the seed pods. We discussed how it doesn't use soil but it does use nutrient enriched water. We have been observing it and can't believe how quickly the seeds are sprouting. We already have tiny plants!
Next steps include our unit called "Transformation". This brings us into our last unit where we discuss changes and growth. We will continue to observe our plants and their transformation from seed to plant. We will also observe the life cycle of a caterpillar. Lastly, we will discuss our transformation into Kindergarteners!
Thank you so much for your donations to our project!

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much. Your donations have had such a great impact on our classroom. We use the cots everyday during rest time. Each child is assigned to a cot. They can keep their blankets and/or stuffed animals right on top. They were so excited for rest time when they first arrived! The children now rest comfortably. They weren't resting or sleeping on the thin, dingy mats. Some of the kids are even falling asleep! These mats are easy to stack up and roll into a corner of the room. They're cleaner then the mats.”
