Tables to support growing artists
Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you for your amazingly generous donation of new art room tables. Words are just not adequate for how excited I am for my students to have an authentic experience in our art space.
For years we have produced our best with tables that were warped and falling apart. The students are troopers and overcame any issues we might have had with the old furniture. Moving their seats away from particle board chips and chasing art supplies as they rolled away from their grasps were just a few problems we used to encounter.
Now, the students have large, level spaces to create and expand their knowledge base of art and artistic techniques to be that well-rounded adult I am preparing them to be. Thank you again.”

Empowering Students Through Art
Funded Dec 22, 2015Thank you for donating to my classroom. These little extra necessities will add expressive aspects to my student's artwork.
After cutting many unessential items from my art room's budget, I was unable to plan for the extras that would help encourage and spark my student's enthusiasm. Many times it takes something special or different to help boost a child towards completing a goal. I feel more confident in the effectiveness of my teaching and a student's artwork when I can add these items back into my supplies.
Thank you again for your consideration and your thoughtful donations to my school, my classroom, and to my students.”

Funded Oct 29, 2015Thank you for your generous donation towards my classroom. I cannot express my gratitude for your help in gaining technology for my art room. Having a document camera in my room will help my English Language Learners as well as my visual learners gain more information about the challenge that is presented to them.
My students will be able to understand, visually, the steps needed to complete their artworks. They will also be able to observe the techniques in creating stitchery or weaving projects which require close up views of the materials and instructions. Students with difficulty in their hearing will benefit as well because they will have that visual reinforcement of the directions when they are displayed with the document camera.
With funding for the arts and public schools being cut or removed, it is so important to know that there are people and companies willing to support the arts in schools to help our students develop critical thinking and problem solving that would be more difficult to achieve in other subjects.
Thank you again for considering my classroom and students in helping them succeed in art and in life and to become well rounded adults.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Patterson
Skeletons in the Art Room
Funded Oct 11, 2014I cannot begin to express my gratitude and excitement. Having a skeleton in the art room is very important when I teach about the human form and cultural artistic diversity.
My students will be able to understand the body proportion as well as how the body moves, helping them create accurate figural proportion and gesture drawings. They will be able to understand that a skeleton is a cultural object used around the world and that it's not just a "scary thing". Also, the additional learning they will achieve through discussing general anatomy of the skeleton and comparing it to their own personal structure will be important for the STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Math) lessons that will be incorporated into my school year curriculum.
Thank you for supporting arts in public schools. By using the newly developed skills, my students will learn to express themselves through art in productive and creative ways. Your generous donation will truly make a difference in my art room.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Patterson
