With today’s technology, everything seems to be headed in the robot direction. I want to duplicate Robots, Droids, & Machines with a Purpose!, a winning project from the Early Childhood Technology Innovation Challenge. Even though my students are so young, they are aware that smartphones, remote controls and computers all serve a purpose. They are so smart and know how to get on a smartphone to watch or play videos!
Showing my students that robots can be useful and not just there for fun can be an eye opener.
This IRobot Roomba is an excellent way to show them how a robot can be used to make life easier in the classroom. This will spark their imagination to think of other ways a robot can help humans in their daily lives. We already have self driving cars so the skies the limit. The 4M Brush Robot teaches young children about robotics in a hands-on way. It show students another useful robot that brushes away what’s in front of it and even has a paint brush!
I love the fact that the students will actually put together a robot as a collaborative project through the use of UBTECH Jimu Robot. Though they are young, they can still help create a robot and be inspired.
