"Ball is Life": Building Character Through Team Sports.
Funded Dec 26, 2016I would like to personally thank you for your act of generosity. My students are truly appreciative of the scoreboard and basketballs as I see them enjoy one of their favorite sports. I see the glow and passion in their eyes and their efforts as they execute drills and play scrimmage games. When my students first saw the scoreboard they were over whelmed with joy. My students are now playing basketball with a purpose and learned a valuable lesson about giving. They realize how special and the strong impact a kindness act can have.
May you continue to prosper and thanks again for your compassion to help the children at my school.”

Funded Jun 18, 2015The trip to Seattle, Washington was an awesome experience. Being in a theater workshop five days and spending 6 hours each day on activities I have passion for, truly taught me how to incorporate drama in my physical education and health program. I met quite a few teachers all over the state of Washington and learned various techniques on how to be more effective teaching children.
One of the highlights of the trip that benefits my students is the pictures that I captured. I was able to take pictures of the facility which is an actual theater that is considered to be one of the best in Seattle. Also, I was able to take pictures of the city and national parks. These pictures helped encourage my students to develop dreams and exposed them to other parts of the United States. Most importantly, it also illustrated to them that dreams can come true.
This excursion has truly inspired learning in my classroom. It starts with the teacher. I learned how to be more creative with my lesson plans and my acting skills. I learned that acting can be a great strategy to keep the students engaged in what is being taught. In addition, when students act out skits that include concepts learned from the lesson, they tend to grasp the information better. Furthermore, their interest for learning is increased and they find it more enjoyable.
Once again, I would like to thank you for making a dream come true that is having a major impact at our school. We now have a drama and music club at our school because of you.
Continue to prosper.”
