A Little Bit of This, a Little Bit of That
Funded Apr 17, 2025Thank you so much for your donations to help realize this project for my students.
We are now in the homestretch of this school year which means annual state testing is around the corner and my kids are getting excited about summer vacation. It also means that supplies are running low. But thanks to your generosity we are set to end this school year strong with the supplies that will be delivered to our classroom. These supplies will help keep my students healthy and keep our attendance high as well as help my students complete their work and assignments as we begin to wrap up our third reporting period.
Thank you again for contributing to our project. But most importantly, thank you for supporting my students as they work hard to complete their third grade year successfully.”

Ms. Trochez MacLean
Resources for SEL
Funded Jun 19, 2024Thank you so much for providing some of the basics needed in a classroom--ink and supplemental resources.
The ink you have provided us was put to immediate use in our classroom. It arrived none too soon, just as the ink cartridge in our printer was beginning to print substandard copies.
Once we had our new cartridge of ink and the resources I purchased with the TpT card we received, I was able to print brain break activities and art worksheets and lessons that were used as part of our SEL activities. I find that art is often a good way for my students to focus on something creative and express themselves. Art is also a good way to take a break from the stress some feel from learning or problems they experience on the yard.
I am very grateful for your support. Thank you for believing in my students and for supporting their wellbeing.”

More Screen Time, Please
Funded Feb 10, 2025Thank you so much for making this project happen for me. Professional development is part of being a teacher--it is important to keep learning to be the most effective teacher to our students.
I am grateful for your donations and for believing in the work I do with and for my students.”

Please Don't Trip on That Backpack!
Funded Jan 16, 2025Thank you for your donations to realize this project for my students. They were really happy when I shared the good news that they were going to receive a backpack cart from our Donors Choose donors. But they were super excited when it was delivered to our classroom.
I had many students who wanted to help me build the cart during recess, and when it was ready to be used, my students couldn't wait to learn which hook would be theirs to store their backpacks. They were excited to practice placing their backpacks so they knew what to do every morning when we start our day and every afternoon when they are getting ready to go home. But the best part is now my students and I can safely walk around the classroom without worrying that someone will trip and fall because backpacks rarely stayed under my students' desks.
Thank you for your support and believing in the work I do with my students.”

Celebrating Lunar New Year in 2025
Funded Jan 3, 2025Thank you so much for donating and funding our project.
Our return back to school from winter break has not gone smoothly as many of us deal with the wildfires; the Eaton fire is not that far from our school and community. So it has been a tough week to say the least.
What a wonderful feeling to find out that your generosity will bring lots of fun and smiles to my students when we begin completing the different activities and celebration I have planned with the materials we will receive. I will be the perfect supplement to our learning and reading about Lunar New Year this year.
Thank you, again, for your kindness and support. I can't wait to share the good news with my students when we are cleared to go back to our school.
Happy lunar new year, and may you receive many blessings.”

Funded May 15, 2024Thank you so much for donating to our project. Your gift gave my students much-needed resources that are supporting my students' learning in science. The grid notebooks, retractable 4-color pens, pouches and other supplies are being used to teach my students how to make observations, a skill that they begin to master and hone at this age.
To prepare my students to begin observing the urban wildlife on our campus and neighborhood, we began with learning how to closely observe and draw a big pumpkin this fall. Initially when asked to describe the pumpkin before them, orange and round were the first characteristics my students noted. With a closer look, they began to notice color variations and textures and then began to take measurements like the height of the pumpkin. Having a notebook my students see as a "big kid" notebook to record their observations helped make our learning special. Using colored pens to label parts of a pumpkin added to the fun. Learning about pumpkins, I hope, will help my students to take a closer look and make more careful observations when we head outdoors to our reading garden and campus in the spring. I can't wait for them to complete their nature scavenger hunt; my students are also excited for me to also read the picture books we received from this project, especially Dirt Girl.
Thank you again for your support and help to make my students' school year memorable and fun.”

Funded Sep 26, 2024Thank you for your donations to our project, Make It Make Cents. Because of your gift, our classroom now has an assortment of math games that will help with my students' learning.
My students are having fun learning about money which is part of their math learning this year. It's important for my student to learn how to use money and recognize the different faces of the coins and their values. Knowing this is part of the foundation they need not just for math class, but for the real world they are preparing for with the learning they are doing right now. The Teacher Pay Teachers gift card provided appropriate coin recognition activities while the games have added an element of fun in our math class. They have been working hard to learn how to add coins and to make change.
I am so grateful for your support in helping my students prepare for their futures as they work improving their math skills. Thank you again, and happy new year!”

Funded Sep 12, 2024Thank you so much for realizing this project for my students. Having a copy of the 3rd Grade Daily Gram for each of my students has been wonderful.
To front load our M.U.G.S. lesson everyday, my students complete their day's daily gram as part of their homework. This routine builds on their learning from the day's M.U.G.S. lesson while helping them prepare for the next day's lesson which includes reviewing each item and looking at different ways to combine the simple sentences provided in the daily gram.
My students love challenging themselves to find more than one way to combine sentences, giving them the opportunity to practice their writing skills and practice writing complex or compound sentences. And I love when my students refer back to previous daily grams to help them complete their day's M.U.G.S. work or explain why a classmates answer to a question is not correct. Referring back to their text is a skill I want my scholars to learn and use as they grow academically.
Thank you, again, for helping me provide one of these workbooks to all my students. I love to see how they are growing as writers, developing their writer's voice, because of your support. Happy holidays, and a happy new year!”

Winter STEM-Based PBIS Incentives
Funded Nov 14, 2024Thank you so much for donating to this project. My students loved their stockings; they loved decorating their gingerbread name tag, and they loved that their stockings were hung on our whiteboard as part of our classroom's winter decor. But the biggest hits were all the STEM goodies they were able to select from to place in their stockings.
Having stocking stuffers as rewards to do homework was a big success--all my students were completing their homework to have a chance to earn items for their stockings. My students thought all the STEM-based items purchased with this project were so cool that they did their work and made good choices in class to be able to choose what they wanted--the spy pen with invisible ink, the space STEM bags, puzzles, and the kinetic sand were the biggest hits.
The stockings and STEM toys as an incentive allowed us to maintain some of our classroom expectations during a most hectic and challenging time of the year as we prepare for holiday performances and activities and routines are disrupted.
I am very grateful for your support and appreciate you. Thank you, again. Happy holidays and a happy new year.”
