My students are an excitable bunch of 8 and 9 year olds who are always excited to try something new. 90% of my students speak Spanish at home and are still developing their English language skills. Our school follows a dual language immersion model which means for third graders 60% of the day is taught in Spanish and 40% in English. This model ensures that students get targeted instruction in English but also advance through important content in Spanish. Our program provides students the opportunity to become bilingual and bi-literate while fostering a deep pride in their language and culture.
