Wiggle While We Work!

My class this year is especially wiggly and I just know that these stools will help them be active while learning. The kick bands will also be super helpful for the times they need to work at their desks but just need a little something to keep them moving. Trading Textbooks for Chromebooks
Funded Aug 26, 2016Thank you so much for your generous contributions to this project. With your donation we were able to get more Chromebooks for our class so that now every student has their own Chromebook. We have been using them for our reading block, by listening to books read aloud and taking quizzes. We have also been using them for writing to create documents and slideshows. Furthermore, we have been able to use our Chromebooks to practice our fact fluency during our math block on our favorite math site, Reflex Math! Your donation has brought our learning experience to a whole new level and we are so grateful! Thank you so very much!”

Digital Dreams

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our academic success. The addition of Chrome-books to our classroom has been such a blessing. Students are able to consistently have access to technology on a daily basis. Your donation is contributing to building the digital skills of my students.
Before we had our six beautiful Chromebooks, we would only have access to ancient Macbooks. Although these were adequate enough to access the websites we needed to enrich our learning, they were pretty slow and didn't like to hold a charge. We also would have to let third and fifth graders use them regularly for testing, so we would not have any technology for weeks on end. Now that we have our own Chromebooks we never have to worry about if we are getting computers or if they work or not.
All of the students are thrilled to have our own Chromebooks. I love to let my struggling readers read books on Raz-Kids, a website that also reads the book to them while highlighting the words so they can follow along. This website also allows me to customize their "just right" books and students can even record themselves reading a story on the Chromebook so I can listen to it later.
I can not express how truly grateful my class is for your wonderful donation! This is such an incredible tool to have in the classroom and it will really extend my students learning.

Tech Time!
Funded Sep 30, 2015Your act of generosity has already begun to change the lives of my students. Since the addition of the five new Chromebooks you helped us purchase, we have had ample opportunity to visit our favorite websites, Raz-kids and Reflex math. Raz-kids helps children develop their reading stories but allowing them to listen to stories, read along with them and then answer comprehension questions about the story. Reflex math gives kids the chance to increase their fact fluency in addition and subtraction in a fun, engaging way. We are now able to use technology throughout the day instead of being limited to the 30 minutes weekly computer lab time. We also don't have to cross our fingers and hope to be able to borrow ancient laptops from the computer lab. Now we are able to practice our reading and math skills on the Chromebooks if we have extra time or indoor recess. It is absolutely fabulous having these resources available everyday. It has been especially nice to have the Chromebooks available for one of my students who is new to the country. This allows him to practice learning letter names and sounds in a fun way while he is waiting for his one on one time with me. I know he loves it as he always gets excited when I mention computer time.
Your donation has really opened doors for the children in my classroom and for that I am so grateful. My class is thrilled and so appreciative that someone would give them such wonderful learning tools. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!”

Write On!
Funded Mar 30, 2015Your generous donation has made such a huge impact on my students learning and my sanity. The kids love the dry erase pockets and fine point expo markers and I love less paper! Most recently we have used the pockets for math puzzles. They are so handy because our math puzzles have many different solutions and when students have solved the problem one way, then they can just wipe it clean and solve it again! We have also used the pockets to practice spelling words and handwriting during our literacy block. Students have also enjoyed using the Mr. Sketch scented markers to write their spelling words and draw with during free choice time. The magnetic letters have created a meaningful word building center for one student with special needs.
We are so very grateful for your generous donation and we are really putting our new supplies to good use. I know that my future second graders will also benefit from your generosity. Thank you so much!”

Funded Mar 31, 2015Your donation has made a world of difference already this year. Having a mobile dry erase board with chart paper rings, and storage has been amazing. We are now able to move the board closer to the carpet so all students can get a good look at what we are recording during our reading or math lesson. I also have students come up and work through math problems on the dry erase side. It is also magnetic so we can display papers or posters with magnets! We also keep our individual white boards in the bottom storage bin along with our dry erase markers and erasers. One central location makes things easier and tidier! The wheels make it especially to move it quickly if it is in the way of something else or if I need to reposition it for children to access the information we are recording. I am absolutely in love with this classroom addition and I know the kids are loving it too! This will enhance lessons and learning for years to come!”

Funded Apr 11, 2015Your generous donations have enabled my students to reach a different level of understanding of the content we are learning. Not only do my students love any excuse for art, the addition of brand new Prang water colors has brought our learning to life! When I revealed what your donations bought for our class my students were over the moon. The excitement they showed was genuine and pure!
We recently put our new water colors to good use. We painted the water cycle and I am confident that this visual representation and hands on experience helped my students really understand the different phases that make up the water cycle. In fact, I hear something about evaporation, condensation or precipitation daily!
I know that my students this year benefited greatly from your amazing contribution and we are all so thankful! My students in the years to come will also enjoy this wonderful gift and for that I cannot thank you enough.”
