Play Like A Champion
Funded Aug 9, 2022Dodgeballs. They love them! They are a variety of sizes so students of all ages have gotten to use them. We use these dodgeballs every single week, although we never play just dodgeball. The reason these balls are so great is because students can use them to their fullest ability and there is no worry about hurting others, because they are so soft!
The foam discs are very similar. I got to teach all the students the skill of throwing a frisbee without worrying that someone was going to be hurt by a wayward throw! We use the foam discs as often as the dodgeballs because it adds another element of fun to each game. They love aiming the discs at targets and trying to knock things down. Thank you for helping with this project!”

Funded Aug 9, 2022The footballs, flags and basketballs have been a hit with the students. They are such good quality that they have held up so well after being used by so many kids so often! The flags are the item we use most often. They help students visualize teams and make games of tag more fun. We even used them to play the classic game Steal the Bacon. They added an extra element of challenge for the students and made the game last a little longer for each round!
Thank you for your kindness and giving these resources to the students! They really love getting to use brand new equipment. It makes every game feel a little more special!”

Funded Aug 10, 2022This year got off to a great start because of all this amazing equipment provided through this project! The rolling cart is fabulous and used every day to help me bring out the supplies we need for each class. We have plenty of mesh bags now that allow me to keep the equipment organized and ready for each class. Some days the games don't go as planned and when that happens it means I have to quickly switch gears to alter the game for the next group. With organized equipment I am able to make these alterations seamlessly! It saves time and helps with behavior management.
We have used every piece of equipment in this project, multiple times, but the favorite item is by far the scarves! We have used them for throwing and catching, but also for creative play and games of tag. It has been so fun to give the kids time to come up with creative games using the colorful scarves!”

Funded May 6, 2022We have had so much fun playing with our new supplies! The school year got off to a great start because we were able to use the PE supplies from this project to keep the students engaged and set forth clear guidelines and expectations for what our year of PE will be like.
Once routines had been established I was able to pull out the Skillastic game and really get the year going. The game is similar to a board game where each team tries to move around the board, but instead of a traditional board game each landing spot is a fun group exercise that the team completes before they can roll again. The exercises are unique and we spent a day learning each one before we started playing the game.
Now that we have this game in our tool bag we can come back to it often. It is a game that the students request and love to play. As a PE teacher I love to see it because all students are moving and working as a team; ideal for PE. The joy during the game is evident by the sights and sounds coming from the PE field! Thank you for making this possible for us!”
