Math is FUNctional
Funded Mar 12, 2020We were thrilled to receive our materials from our donors. When they arrived, the students were switched to virtual, but I was able to use some of the materials while learning on Zoom virtually. Now, we can use these materials in a small group. It gives students the opportunity to use different manipulatives to demonstrate math concepts such as 3D shapes, time, and money. This creates a more interesting and hands on approach compared to the pencil and paper method. They get excited to use these materials and they are happy to learn math this way. Thank you again for your generous contribution to our classroom. We appreciate it and will use these materials for years to come.”

Classroom Supplies
Funded Oct 24, 2019Although these are basic supplies, such as staples and colored paper, our class uses these items almost daily. It may seem like insignificant items, but these basic supplies turn into center games, class projects, and learning basics to enhance our daily curriculum and learning. Our class used these supplies recently to complete our Holidays Around the World project, Thanksgiving activities, and Center Games that taught us words and math problems. Thank you for your generous contribution to the betterment of our class and the enrichment of our every day lessons.”

Funded Sep 13, 2019When my students saw the materials, they were thrilled! We use these materials during centers or story time. They are engaged throughout the day and continuously get excited to visit their center, use story wands, and enjoy the books being read during story time. At the end of every day, I ask the student what their "Rose of the Day" is. This is the best part of their day. Many times they say centers, and it motivates me to use interactive materials to keep them interested in learning. Completing our Donors Choose project gave me the opportunity to make learning fun for my students! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for your contribution!”

Funded Oct 25, 2018This project has helped enrich our reading center time tremendously! We love to use the new materials, including the CVC word building cards, and the really fun Magic Erase boards! We love to go to Centers and have fun with our friends while learning at the same time! We use our white boards every day to practice sight words and word families, and instead of using tissues to erase, we can now use our new white board erasers. The STEM building blocks and activities are great to use during Fun Friday or when we finish our work early! Thank you so much for all your generous contributions to our classroom!”

Funded Sep 7, 2018My students and I are thrilled to have new books for our classroom library and the new center activities! Because of your generous donations, we implemented a kindness activity with the pom poms and the gumball machine. We use the ZINGO math game for math centers, and they love to use it! We have the ZINGO sight word game for reading centers, and the kids were excited to have a similar game for math number recognition and adding. Now that our class is starting to read, they love to read books from our classroom library! Thank you so much for contributing to our educational success!”

Kindergarten Fun!
Funded Dec 17, 2017Your generous contribution to our classroom has made a wonderful everyday impact on my students. At this time of the year, they are all reading and are thrilled to check out books from our classroom library. Several of our kids participate in the Accelerated Reader Program and are "Going Over the Reading Rainbow" which means they are taking comprehension tests on 40+ books! We are also working on our coloring and cutting skills, and our crayon sharpener allows us to keep crayons that we would normally throw away. It is helping us preserve and recycle our school supplies. Thank you for supporting our classroom project and enriching my children's education!”

Keeping Up With Kindergarten
Funded Oct 2, 2017It is with sincere gratitude that I am writing this thank you letter to all the donors that contributed to our classroom project. The children were beyond thrilled to receive all our packages and begin using the materials during our daily instruction! The children love to check out books from our Classroom Library. The books we received are a great introduction to reading, and being able to check them out in the classroom motivates and excites them to read at home and take AR tests at school. The tactile materials and games are used on a daily basis during Centers, and the students love to use all of these as well. Thank you for allowing me to enrich the classroom with materials that make learning enjoyable!”

Learning by Doing!
Funded Dec 7, 2016Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom. The kids love the center games that were ordered, and they beg me to play these games weekly! It makes me smile to know they enjoy something so much and are learning at the same time. The books are wonderful to share and the students are interested and excited to hear about something new that they have not been exposed to before. I can tie in these books to science lessons and activities we are learning about in class in a fun way! Having engaging math and reading centers is helpful when reteaching or enriching my students! Thank you again for all you have done to improve my classroom instruction, and make learning fun and exciting for my Kindergarten students!”

Let's Start the Year Off Learning!
Funded Jul 11, 2016These resources helped me begin my year without spending hundreds of dollars on supplies! I was able to hang all my posters with packing tape. I was able to laminate my centers. I created my class pet journal and sent the "class pet" giraffe home on Friday with a great student. I began the first week of school reading books about kindness and acceptance to set the tone for a great year where children feel safe and accepted.
Thank you for the generous donation, and this project truly helped begin my year off wonderfully!”

Reading Essentials
Funded Jun 9, 2016My students are using all of the resources from this project on a daily basis. Instead of searching for their headphones, they go straight to the computers to begin working with our awesome lime green headphones that match our jungle classroom! I have been able to print some engaging center ideas online with the color ink. Having the centers colored make them more enticing for the students.
The books for the classroom library are perfect for beginning readers! The Biscuit books, Pete the Cat, and Fly Guy books are great for starting out and the children feel successful after they finish reading these books. These books are also available for AR tests, so it's wonderful for our beginning readers in our Kindergarten class.
The laptops are also used for the iReady program that students are required to use, and also AR testing that improves their reading comprehension.
Thank you so much for your contribution to my student success!”

Mrs. Burns
