  • Supplemental Learning Resources

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation! The resources I have purchased to supplement our curriculum on Teachers Pay Teachers have been so helpful and beneficial to our student's learning. Each and every student in our classroom has benefitted from your donation.

Because of the wide variety of materials on Teachers Pay Teachers, we are able to use these already made resources to supplement our Word Study, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Math curriculum. We are so grateful to you for your generosity during this very trying time.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lasano

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and one other donor.
  • Social-Emotional Learning & Mindfulness in the Classroom

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you so much for your support! We are ever so grateful for your generosity and kindness. Your donations have brought us the tools to bring some peace and calm and the ability to explore our feelings and emotions during this very difficult time.

The students definitely enjoy the books centered on social emotional learning. They enjoy listening to them and taking part in the discussions they bring. The books help to give them a voice and the words to express their feelings. The sight and sound of the singing bowl and expanding sphere helps them to focus and slow down. I've used them in many breathing exercises and it helps to bring calmness and stillness to our hectic day. Thanks to each and every one of you for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lasano

  • Promote Literacy for Tomorrow's Social Justice Champions

    Funded Jul 8, 2020

During these trying times, it's been so helpful to keep kids informed about what is happening in the world and in our country. Scholastic News offers excellent resources: grade level activities, kid friendly articles and lessons to help to enhance and implement into our curriculum. The students are reading about many interesting topics and learning valuable comprehension lessons as well.

Thank you for providing this resource to my class for another year. Because of you, students will be able to read timely articles throughout the year thanks to your generous donations. Thank you from all of us!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lasano

Each year, my students enjoy reading about current events happening in their world. Scholastic News is a weekly magazine that is written for kids with this in mind. Scholastic News is offered online so we as a class can read and discuss articles and view videos together. They are also provided with their own copy that they refer to and read on their own. Reading and sharing articles in Scholastic News about relevant current events helps to promote and foster cultural understanding and personal growth. It's interactivity, leveled reading articles, and comprehension questions provide my students with materials that help them enjoy reading and learning.
