My classes of eight graders are diverse and creative. Many of my students began middle school as ESL students and are now fully integrated in to American life. They are thoughtful, generous and I'll miss them when they go off to the high school next year. I also have two Integrated Co-Teaching periods where I co-teach Special Education students with another teacher during two mainstream periods. Although these students may occasionally struggle, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the integrated students from the regular education students. All of my students are very excited to begin the portfolio process and become "published" writers.
