When it comes to technology, my students only think about playing video games and spending time on their cell phones. I want to help them broaden their minds and discover how much they can learn from what's on the internet. My school district has purchased a reading program that the entire district uses and has been using since they were in 1st grade. Students tend to get burned out on it and don't perform to their fullest potential. Introducing new websites and programs will hopefully create an interest and excitement in the students while learning at the same time. By donating to my project, you will help to close the reading deficiency gap among my students. The tablets I selected will allow me to create a more effective rotation with them. I will be able to facilitate a digital curriculum specifically designed for each student. Since my classes are small, the use of the tablets will help the students to be able to meet their goals according to their individual educational plans. While some of the students are working on the tablets, I will be able to spend quality two-on-one time with them to dig deeper into increasing their reading comprehension. Allowing my students to be able to choose what they can work on will help to guide them with becoming more independent learners. The ultimate goal in education is preparing students for life after graduation. Being proficient with technology, academically prepared, and improving themselves will prepare them for a future beyond what they can imagine. The curriculum I will design will assist them toward their goals. I want to be able to do everything I can to ensure the success of all of my students.
