Working with students with special needs in a low-income school district working has allowed me to recognize the challenges the students face both in and outside of the classroom. Despite the challenges they encounter, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. We have a diverse community of children with a high population of English Language Learners and students with special needs. Our school is located in an urban district with most of our children qualifying for free lunches. Many of their homes lack essential educational resources as well as basic necessities for living. Quality education is the key for my students to overcome poverty.
