Chromebooks On Every Table!
Funded Sep 20, 2014Now that our classroom community has had the chance to settle in and establish a routine with the chrome-books you so graciously helped provide for us, I wanted to let you know how they have positively impacted our learning environment.
The most obvious benefit is that all the students in room 104 now have a quick and easy way to access information. For example, I have seen the art students using the chrome-books for visual inspiration. This year the auction art projects are print making collaborations. Specifically, I have seen the students use chrome-books to look up artists and both geometric and organic print images.
In my own language arts classrooms we use the chrome-books daily. Kids are using them as a writing tool, as a video screen for research, as a search engine, and for access to our online classroom portal. As a teacher, I see the classroom portal as the most powerful tool the chrome-books have bestowed. I am able to share electronic documents with the entire class. I am able to give written feedback directly on to these documents, and the students can make corrections to re-submit documents, all without printing a single page! Not only does this support Skyline as a Green School, but I also know that colleges all require some form of shared information portal space. The fact that our students will already be comfortable with this format will help them acclimate to the demands of higher education.
Thank you for your generosity.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Earle
