• Drones - Real World Application of STEM Concepts!

  Our new Drone is super cool! So far it has been a little cold to be flying it outside - however we have a community center in our building which is basically a cafetorium, so we have been flying it in there.

  Two of our students have successfully navigated from the community center, down the hallway and down the stairs, along the lower hallway - up the other end's stairwell - and then back to the community center.

  We are learning a lot about the dynamics of flight - and definitely much hand eye coordination.

  The field of drone operations is an exciting up-and-coming technology. We are very fortunate to be able to offer this to our students!

• Holiday Party Extravaganza Kicks Off A Vacation Of Food Insecurity...

  Thank you so much for sponsoring our holiday party! Our students and staff had a great time. It was really special to be able to have such a memorable time before our winter vacation. We were able to present our students with a good selection of food along with a great social gathering.

  Our students were also able to take the left-over food home - to their families. We are very grateful that you chose to support our school and our programs.

• Billiards builds muscle, improves flexibility and balance - who knew!

  Our students and staff are very thankful for your support!

  Our students love playing pool during our elective "Sports and Society" class! Having the pool table has been a very positive experience for us.The students are playing in teams of two or four and are working on their social skills and gamesmanship. They are getting along very well while playing and learning pool rules and strategies.

  The pool table is a great addition to our program. We are looking forward to using it in our class room for a very long time!”

• Holiday Party Extravaganza Kicks Off A Vacation Of Food Insecurity...

  Our staff and students are so grateful for your generosity in supporting our annual winter holiday party!

  The students had such an enjoyable time at our special luncheon. We had pizza, salad, soda, - Italian, tuna, chicken salad, steak cheese and chicken cheese subs, chips, cookies, and whoopie pies from Papa Gino's and D'Angelos.

  It was a great day of celebration for all and a great way to start off our winter vacation!

• History Current Events - Scholastic Upfront Magazine - High School

  We received our first Scholastic New York Times Upfront Magazine today!

  Usually it takes a few weeks into the school year for it to arrive; we are only on our third day this year!

  Upfront Magazine is a fun, educational, and interesting addition to our Current Events History class. Sometimes we can use the magazine in our other History classes also. The magazine is always full of information that is relevant to our high school aged students!

  We are very thankful to have this resource available to us, due to your generosity, again this school year!

• Environment, Seed, Sprout, Small Plant, Adult Plant, Ecosystems, GrowLab!

  Thank you so much for our plant project supplies!

  We had a great time learning about the growing process from seed to mature plant!

  Our plant lights worked great. We loved the greenhouse.

  We were able to put the light on with the supplied timer and have the plant light on for about 12 hours a day! The plants were very happy in their greenhouse and amazingly almost all of the seeds we planted grew!

  We grew giant Russian Sunflowers. They grew to about 6 inches as seedlings and then we got to take them home!

  It was a great addition to our Summer School Program!”

• Elementary Summer School Supplies

  Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting our students! The supplies have been so helpful.

  Our students love the bear counters and the kinetic sand. The "Hello My Name Is" name tags have been very helpful in listing our students' names, van numbers, and teacher names. The desk name plates are great - they help our students to remember which desk is theirs!

  The work books are great for our curriculum!

  The fat pencils and crayons are used every day!

  Our classroom has benefited greatly from having these supplies!

  How great it is to be able to provide a holiday celebration before mid winter vacation! Our students and staff are very grateful for your support! Many of our students come from underprivileged and impoverished backgrounds. For these disadvantaged students our annual holiday celebration just might be the high point of the holiday season.
