These brain puzzles and manipulatives will be used to help my students improve perseverance in math. So many times in math, students give up if solving a problem doesn't come easy to them and they can't get an answer right away. Students need to be allowed time to solve a complex problem and to give them a "can do" attitude in math. This will then roll over into other types of problem solving they will encounter throughout their lives. Students need to be provided with a safe learning environment that will allow them to take chances and explore different ways to solve problems. I want to provide opportunities in my classroom that will allow this to happen. As a teacher, nothing is more rewarding than hearing my students shout, "Yes- I did it!"
