  • Expanding a "Building Thinking Classroom" Space

    Funded Aug 7, 2023

Quyana (thank you) for your contribution for our classroom! These materials will make a huge difference. My goal this year is to consistently use the whiteboards to create a flexible and engaging math class. The stand up whiteboards will make our classroom space liven up! Thank you so much for making this possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Krystalynn Scott

  • Students Highlighting Mistakes to Learn!

    Funded Jan 28, 2023

You have incredible hearts to give time and money into funding this project. I cannot wait for students to learn have some basic and functional tools to move around flexibly to learn. It is amazing how little tools can change ideas- and more important- lives. Thanks to your generosity, high school mathematicians will be able to explore a world that they can discover and appreciate. Quyana cakneq (thank you very much in Yup'ik)!””

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Krystalynn Scott

  • Equity Through Access: Calculators for the Best Math Experience!

    Funded Sep 22, 2022

Quyana from the bottom of my heart. You have provided my students and future students with a very good gift of access to technology in our shared learning space. Wow!

Classrooms across the nation have limited supplies to graphing calculators. Some schools have the capacity to offer more access. I have 150 students who will be able to learn and grow and be challenged because you have offered your money and consideration towards their education.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Krystalynn Scott

  • Discovering the Alaskan Micro-World!

    Funded Apr 25, 2020

You have incredible hearts to give time and money into funding this project. It is amazing how only five microscopes can change ideas- and more important- lives. Thanks to your generosity, every middle school scientist will be able to explore a world that they can discover and appreciate.

Quyana cakneq (thank you very much in Yup'ik)!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Krystalynn Scott

Science is a hands-on experience motivated by discovery, observation, critical-thinking, and reading. My ideal classroom would include a station for 6-8 students working through a microscope lab while the rest of the class is working on a project, collecting data, creating a presentation, or reading, through stations. I would like to offer field trips for students to collect their own specimen found in the Alaskan environment which they experience daily. Students in the middle school levels are naturally inquisitive and open to share their new ideas and discoveries. Providing microscopes to our science courses will shape the way they think about earth, space, water, and themselves! Visit my website www.alaskamath.net to learn more about my classroom.
