Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you for your generosity in funding the We Got The Beat project. The wood blocks, maracas, claves, rain sticks, rhythm sticks and the bongos have created a positive and interactive music classroom.
The students love to play all of the instruments and to hear the different tone colors they each produce. With the Rhythm Sticks each student is able to have a pair and this allows them to participate through out the entire class. This helps to keep all students actively engaged in the lesson. They smile and giggle when we use all of the instruments and cheer when I tell them today we are going to play our new rhythm instruments. It is a joy to see all the students come together and make music. The students especially enjoy the days we use the rhythm sticks to play games such as Obwisana, which is a stick passing activity or the days we talk about high and low pitches and we use our two-tone woodblocks and bongos.
Our students have taken great pride in your gifts and have been very responsible with their use. I have been able to incorporate these resources in all areas of my instruction and incorporated there use with all grade levels. I look forward to the many years and thousands of students that your donation will impact. Thank you again for your support of music in our public schools.”

Funded Jan 19, 2017Thank you for your generosity in funding A Triangle Needed To Ring with the Band project. The added triangle, beaters and triangle clip have created a positive and more colorful percussion section.
The students love to play the triangle and have found success with proper triangle technique. Each percussion student is able to have a turn trying to play an auxiliary instrument which promotes part independence. This has helped to keep all percussion students actively engaged in the band rehearsal. It is a joy to see the pride and care the students have when setting up and tearing down band rehearsal and finding the perfect spot for their "new instrument".
Our students have taken great pride in your gift and have been very responsible with their use. I have been able to incorporate these resources in my instruction and incorporated there use with both of our bands. I look forward to the many years and hundreds of students that your donation will impact. Thank you again for your support of music in our public schools.”

It is a joy to see all 27 students come together and make music. The students especially enjoy the days we play rhythm sticks to the song Eye of the Tiger and Sir Duke to reinforce the various rhythm combinations we have learned.
Our students have taken great pride in your gift and have been very responsible with their use. Start The Music
Funded Oct 13, 2014Thank you for your generosity in funding the Start The Music project. The added sets of Boomwhackers and music books have created a positive and interactive music classroom.
The students love to play the boomwhackers and find instant success. Students are able to have two or three Boomwhackers each and are constantly engaged instead of waiting their turn to play. They smile and giggle and learn to work together as a team. It is a joy to see 37 students come together and play music from various classical composers. The students especially enjoy the day we play the Lion Sleeps Tonight by The Tokens to reinforce our eighth note values.
Our students have taken great pride in your gift and have been very responsible with their use. I have been able to incorporate these resources in all areas of my instruction and incorporated the use of Boomwhackers in all units that are taught. I look forward to the many years and thousands of students that your donation will impact. Thank you again for your support of music in our public schools.”
