STEM for PreK
Funded Sep 7, 2015I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your donation and support of my classroom. The learners are able to explore through play and social interaction the foundational concepts of engineering. They have become creative in their problem solving approaches, more detailed in their descriptions and increased use of language, and continue to engineer practical ways in which the images in their imaginations can be brought to life. There is nothing more crucial in a child's learning that play, and through your donation of these manipulatives and toys to our classroom, they are able to become artist and creators and engineers.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, truly.”
With gratitude,

New Teacher, New Program, New Sand and Water Table PLEASE!
Funded Mar 21, 2015My students and I would like to say a very special thank you to all of the donors who contributed to the Sand and Water Table project. The students were shocked and endlessly excited to see such a large "toy" in the room! Full of nothing but smiles and chatter, I asked them what they might want to put into the large tub. Screws and bolts, snakes, bugs, pudding or jell-o, fire, and each other were just a few of the imaginative responses from these young minds.
We began using the table and toys right away beginning with the new sand. The students loved sifting the sand and shoveling, they made cake and volcanoes, and best of all worked with all 6 of the students able to fit at the table to enjoy play and new discovery. My students engaged in a cooperative play that I have not seen before. It was so exciting that not only had the project met the educational needs, particularly science, of my students, but an unplanned bonus of a new closeness among students as they work and play together!
I could not be more grateful to the donors who funded this project. The acquisition of the sand and water table, toys, and sand is an important addition to my classroom. The possibilities for education using these resources combined with my students' creativity and curiosity make it even more essential than I could have planned. Endless thanks to our donors and DonorsChoose.”
With gratitude,
