  • Amplify Our Voices: Empower Students with a New PA System!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your generosity in supporting my DonorsChoose project to bring a new speaker system to our school. Thanks to your contributions, we were able to provide a critical resource that has already made an incredible impact on our school community.

The new speaker system has been transformative for our events. From assemblies that bring the entire school together, to our spelling bee where every word could be clearly heard, this system has enhanced how we connect and celebrate as a community. Most recently, we used it during our school concert last week, and it made the performances truly shine. The sound was clear and beautiful, allowing every note and word to be enjoyed by the audience. The students were so proud of their hard work, and the new equipment ensured their efforts were heard and appreciated.

Your donation did more than fund a speaker system—it gave us the ability to amplify voices, foster community spirit, and create moments of joy and pride. I cannot thank you enough for believing in my project and supporting our vision.

On behalf of our entire school, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Your support truly makes a difference, and we are so fortunate to have donors like you who care about our students and their success.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Robson

  • Storing our Instruments!

    Funded Aug 23, 2015

I first want to thank you for providing the means for our classroom to receive an instrument storage cabinet. I started teaching at this school last year. When I arrived here and had a chance to look at my classroom I realized I had almost nothing. We didn't have a lot of instruments for the students to use and we certainly did not have a place to store them. Our instruments lived on a cart in the back of the classroom last year. They were out in the open where all of the students could see and touch them. The cart of instruments was distracting for students that sat in the back of the classroom or even for all students when we moved around the classroom. They were always tempted to touch them and that leads to things going missing or being broken. Now we a have place to put them away from little fingers and eyes. The first picture I uploaded is a picture of how our instruments were stored last year to show how much nicer and neater the classroom is this year with them put away thanks to you.

Our cabinet arrived within the first week of school and the students were very excited. Several of my classes clapped and others cheered when I told them about our cabinet. After explaining to the students how we received the cabinet we discussed how it would be helpful in our classroom. We talked about responsibility, what it means to be responsible, and how our cabinet can help up be responsible with our instruments. Some of the students mentioned that it seemed like we had a lot more room in our classroom with the instruments put away!

Even though it is only cabinet it has made the classroom better in many ways. It keeps our instruments safe when we are in and out of the classroom. The cabinet also keeps our students safe by getting the cart out of the way when we do activities that require movement in our classroom. It has provided an understanding of how we need to be responsible of our things and put them away when we aren't using them. It has provided the students and myself with a sense of organization that we did not have before. I love having the cabinet in my classroom! I love being able to put things away and have a feeling of organization in my classroom! Thank you so much for all of your help!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Robson

This is my second year teaching music!! I teach at a Title One school in the city of Richmond. My music classes are taught in a trailer that was previously used for storage. We have a lot of things we do not need that take up space in our classroom. We have large class sizes and currently our instruments sit in boxes on a cart or the floor. We do not have a lot of instruments; however they are used constantly. My lessons require the students to move around a lot. We need a place to store our instruments to keep them out of the way of the students (when not using them), and also safe when we are not there.
