Printing for Success in 5th Grade
Funded Dec 16, 2024Thank you so very much for donating ink to our classroom! Our students are so happy to have the option to print now. We began our first project right away! They wrote persuasive essays about natural disasters, and each child then designed their own cover which we were able to print thanks to you! Our students work so hard and are happy we can now print their work for all to see! For our second project we are writing opinion pieces on the importance of recycling. Thanks for your kindness and generosity. We look forward to creating many more projects.”

Pencil Sharpener Needed for My Super Students
Funded Feb 27, 2023We are so thrilled to finally have a pencil sharpener that will stand the test of time! We are working hard every day and growing into smart productive little citizens. We write essays and narratives daily, so this was a must have for our classroom. We take turns using it, and we are careful with it. We are taking good care of the pencil sharpener. Thank you so much for helping us always be prepared with sharp pencils! We are so thankful for everyone that contributed to this small but important addition to our class!”

Basic Supplies for Stellar Students
Funded Sep 7, 2018When the box arrived with the crayons, markers, colored pencils, paper, and sharpened pencils from our Donor's Choose grant, the kids cheered! We are all so excited to be able to have these additional supplies for our classroom learning environment. These supplies have created an opportunity for small group intervention, individualized support, and group collaboration, restorative circle follow up projects, a writing center, and I could go on and on.
Most of my students have little extra in their lives. Many come to school without the basics. But they do come with a love of learning and stability. They love knowing that every day we use these items and they are taking wonderful care of them which is remarkable in and of itself. When I explained the project to them and showed them the donations, they just couldn't believe that people who don't even know them would donate money to them. It really opened their eyes to the goodness of the world.
The possibilities for the uses of these supplies are almost endless. The students have already started planning how they will present their writing projects and reflection journals, and whether they want to illustrate with marker versus crayon and pencil and why. They are really thinking more about what they do now that they have choices in supplies!
We are so thankful for your support and we appreciate your generosity. Thank you for enriching education for this class of 2nd graders and many more in the future!"”
