The Internet is abundant with rich learning tools which enable students to explore and experience math, rather than passively receiving direct instruction and working out repetitive exercises in the textbook. By purchasing Chromebooks, students will take advantage of online exploration tools such as Desmos and Geogebra, view mathematical simulations and access the videos, assessments and interactive experiences offered by our textbook publisher. Implementation of this project will help make the math more accessible, meaningful, and enjoyable to my students. Research shows that students learn math by doing, not by watching and listening. My students will learn to access tools that will be useful not only in the current curriculum, but also in future courses in high school and college.
