Access to these high-interest books has a positive effect on reading growth, leading to academic success and achievement of short-term and long-term goals. These books will be in my classroom library where students have the opportunity to check out books to read in class and at home. As the saying goes, in order to become a better reader, READ! This project will significantly help my students reading investment. The best way to increase reading levels is to read books on level, and increase rigor as mastery continues. This wide-range of books will give my students the opportunity to reach their reading goals of reading on or above grade level. Additionally, a recurring need in a classroom are printer ink, pencils, and a working pencil sharpener; my 4th graders will reap the benefits of these items all year long! Furthermore, studies show that low playing classical music helps students focus, and works to create a warm and welcoming environment. This is an environment that I enjoy creating in my classroom, and the Beats Pill will help to make sure that students will regularly have this opportunity.
