My students are like most students - hesitant about math! Some love it, but most either tolerate it or even dislike it. I truly try to make this the best year they've ever had in math! My students are willing to work hard, they are active learners, and they always amaze me at their willingness to help their peers! The thing that always amazes me is that despite their level of math understanding, each of my students wants to be successful in math! Sometimes they lack an understanding of how to make that happen, but together, we learn how to be proactive in learning and how to help each other! We have fun in math class, but we also learn a lot of math throughout the 8th grade year! 8th grade is a HUGE year for students. They are growing and changing a lot individually. As a teacher, I try to make this year the one that changed their thinking about mathematics - for the better!!
