  • Learning & Growing At NSTA

    Funded Oct 21, 2017

Imagine dissecting a preserved rat at 8:00 in the morning to go along with you coffee. Or learning fun, hands on ways to teach students how to balance chemical equations before lunch. That is only part of the experience i received during NSTA this month. Thank you so much for your generous donations to fully fund my project.

I am so pleased to have the opportunity to attend professional development conferences. I was able to learn so much. Not only that, i was able to meet and network with other Science teachers around the country. I was able to learn by having impactful conversations on how to move students forward in learning.

    Thank you for supporting me!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Porter

  • STEAMing Everywhere!

    Funded Feb 6, 2018

Thank you so much for ARMing my classroom with things we really needed. Pencils disappear so quickly in public schools. A kiddo can arrive with two and lose them before their first period class. Having the extra pencils has lessen my students and my worries about ensuring that students are prepared to learn.

I've taught my students that learning and Science is hands-on. They have grown to love coding and robotics. The fun part is that my students have been able to teach me more about our new Ozobots. My students have enjoyed programming the robots using the coded stickers and markers.

Thank you so much for relieving some of the stress and worry about securing relevant supplies for my classroom.”

  • Hands-On STEAM Learning

    Funded Jan 18, 2018

Thank you so much for supporting and choosing my classroom to place your donation for our Hands-On STEAM Learning project. My classroom is striving to becoming more inclusive in STEAM and hands-on. The new additional Ozobot robots will help my students to learn how to use their creativity to code several robotics tasks using the new technology. The additional Ozobots and engineering kits have been helpful because it allows more students the opportunity to learn this skill. My students are always excited and engaged when we think outside the box when learning and Science. They also enjoy when we connect it to the real world. I can't wait to see the many things that they will accomplish this year as a result of the new items.”

  • Coding Everywhere

    Funded Jan 9, 2018

Thank you so much again for funding our coding project. The students were so thrilled and excited to see all of the boxes when they arrived. They were even more excited to see what was inside. My students have a personalized learning class period. During this class period during the day, the students are able to learn about coding and robotics. Before this project was funded, we had limited amount of Ollie's for the students to use. Now, more students are able to experience coding and they are learning more than ever.”

  • Learning & Growing At ISTE

    Funded Nov 30, 2017

Thank you so much again for choosing to donate to my ISTE project. With your generous donation, i was able to join the largest educational technology organization for educators around the Nation. My membership includes access peer reviewed journals that i receive quarterly, a detailed report of the updated technology standards that i can use to elevate my teaching and ensure that my students are learning what is required across the board in the United States. I am also connected to the wider network of educators around the world. Using that network, i can clearly see what real teachers are teaching and get suggestions to improve my teaching.”

    Funded Dec 9, 2017

Thank you so much for supporting and choosing my classroom to place your donation for our Advancing Legos with Coding project. My classroom is striving to becoming more inclusive in STEAM and hands-on. • Tracking Movement at ISTE

    Funded Dec 4, 2017

Thank you SO much for funding my classroom project that involved using the Apple Watch for classroom experiments and professional development. When i found out that this project was funded, i was super excited to learn that I would soon get a chance to use an Apple Watch in my classroom. I am looking forward to connecting the Apple Watch with my ITunes account and learning how to track my movements each day. I am hoping to learn how to use the data collected to create engaging lessons for my students.”

  • Online PD Learning to Improve Teaching

    Funded Nov 20, 2017

Thank you so much again for choosing to donate to my project. Being able to have the new Mac Book Air to use for my own professional development as a teacher has been incredibly helpful. In order to teach and prepare my students for the new technology driven world, i first need to prepare myself and become confident and comfortable in using new types of technology. My classroom is currently one laptop for each student. Since my students have access to using technology on a daily basis, i want to incorporate news and engaging ways to connect and teach my students.”

  • More Than Robots With Legos

    Funded Sep 20, 2017

Your thoughtfulness and generosity has really impacted the engagement of my students. Thank you again for choosing to support my public classroom. We have loved having the extra iPad minis. We are almost 1 to 1 for tablets. That means that almost each student will be able to use their own device without sharing when completing assignments. It is much more engaging when they have their own. Using the new iPads, my students have been able to complete school assignments for Science class using Discovery Education and Brain Pop. The students have also learned more about coding using Lego Wedo, Lego Mindstorms, and Ollie robots. Without your support, the students wouldn't have these engaging tools.”

My students are diverse. Our school has many nationalities represented. My students are high achieving, yet from various different economic backgrounds. Our school is considered to be a school of need according to the number of students that qualify financially for free lunch programs. My students love to learn. They enjoy hands on labs where they can create products or explain and explore why things occur.
