  • Supplies! Supplies! We Need Some!

    Funded Oct 21, 2023

Thank you for your considerable donation of supplies for my classroom. Without your kindness and generosity, my kids would not have the supplies needed to complete day-to-day activities. Daily, we go through quite a bit of dry-erase markers recording our math work. We love to use our whiteboards to erase mistakes and learn through productive struggle. The earbuds that were purchased help us to listen to books on tape provided on our Chromebooks and any read-a-loud information that is given to us. We go through lots of little earbuds. We are truly grateful for your kindness! Thank you for supporting our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Froning

  • Brain Snacks!

    Funded Jan 10, 2023

When people are hungry, learning isn't a priority. This is so true for young learners. In our Battle of the Books club, we do a lot of reading and discussing books. We meet once or twice a week afterschool in the library. We use that snacks that this grant helped to purchase to encourage reading and talking. We don't want the kids focusing on their stomachs and not the books. We use these snacks so that no child is left hungry because they couldn't afford a snack or forgot to bring one with them.”

    Mrs. Froning

  • Let's Play a Game!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

I'd like to thank everyone who gave to this project and helped my students gain valuable learning games. My students love playing these self-checking games with their friends. They are learning valuable skills while interacting with their peers.

My students love when they see that I've added these games to our daily schedule. All they see is that they get to play a game with friends. I however know that they are

re-enforcing skills that we are working on in our class. Students in my classroom will gain valuable knowledge from these games for years to come.”

  • It's The Small Things!

    Funded Jul 26, 2022

As we teach our students different skills each day, there are the small supplies that are essential for doing a great job. We use dry erasers and post it notes daily with our reading and math practices. With daily use, these items don't always last very long. It creates a financial burden to families that are already struggling. Having donors like the ones on DonorsChoose helps lesson the burden for families and improves the ability of teachers to create lessons that will benefit all the students in their classroom.”

  • A Book In Hand!

    Funded May 3, 2022

I was moved to the third grade this year and I had to adapt my reading books to meet the needs of my students. I have students that read on low levels and students who read on high levels so I need to have a variety of books to challenge all my kids. The books that were purchased through DonorsChoose are a welcome addition to our reading library. My students love being able to select a book that they have an interest in and take it home or just simply read it at their desk when their other work is complete. Reading is a wonderful way to relax and learn!”

  • Feed Our Learning!

    Funded Dec 27, 2021

All students love to eat. They are often unable to think past their next snack. This project allowed me to provide snacks to any student who wanted one. They were better able to participate in the groups that we were doing because they weren't hungry. Students shouldn't have to wonder about where their next snack will come from. They should be acting like children. Providing these snacks allowed these students to have a snack without any regard to where they came from. They could count on getting something to eat whenever they came to me.”

  • Writing Everywhere!

    Funded Jun 30, 2021

I am very honored to be a part of the Donors Choose Community. My students are always excited when we receive boxes and they realize that the materials inside those boxes are things that strangers bought to help them learn. This grant was for student clipboards. The clipboards will allow my students to work where they feel comfortable. I have a flexible seating classroom where students are allowed to choose a place to work. Some work at tables and some prefer the floor. I am forever grateful to all who help our children.”

I am very honored to be a part of the Donors Choose Community. My students are always excited when we receive boxes and they realize that the materials inside those boxes are things that strangers bought to help them learn. This grant was for stadium chairs. My students are very active learners. They love to learn and have a natural desire to go beyond my expectations. My students come from families that cannot afford to have updated technology at home. They are growing up in a world that they cannot compete in unless they can have regular access to updated equipment. Our school is slowly putting technology into the lower grades. This is the beginning of the learning process - the first step to technology.
