High Five for Hands-On Learning!
Funded Sep 7, 2022What excitement our student's had, when we received our materials! We have worked in small groups searching for the correct letter with our Find a letter activity center. The student's have worked together helping each other, as well as challenging each other on who can find the most correct letters. This has really added fun to their learning.
Our math materials has helped our student's with counting and learning the numbers that they have struggled with. They all are now able to rope count and have increased to counting to 15. The materials have helped make a huge improvement on our student's reaching their goals. From identify and saying the numbers to being able to count one to one corresponding.
We are so thankful to all that have donated to our class project. It has truly made such an improvement and added so much fun to their learning.”

Funded Aug 17, 2021I want to share with you just how excited our students were when our cube chairs arrived. They were first exploring that these large boxes were in our room! When we opened them and pulled the chairs out their faces were priceless. They immediately took to what color they liked and sat right in them. They were just their size! It reminded me of the story"The three bears", their feet could touch the floor!
Since the chairs have arrived and the students have been using them, we have noticed a huge difference in how confident they are about getting up and participating in whole group activities. Our children don't fall out of the chairs or tip over in them.
My most memorable moment is when one of our precious down syndrome students was tapping his foot on the floor to the music. Before his feet couldn't touch the floor, now he is happy and feels very secure. Thanks to all of our donors for making our children feel safe, secure and able to blossom with confidence. This really makes a difference in their everyday learning.”

Funded Apr 12, 2021We would like for you to know that all of our student's now have the same learning materials! With your donations we were able to give all our new student's the handwriting alphabet book and number book. We work on handwriting ever day and this allows all the student's to follow along and practice during and after all our sessions. Many of our student's have fine motor skills as a goal and with them using the dry erase markers this really helps them.
Our children were so excited that everyone was able to have their own bear counting and sorting set. They all can now work on counting and grouping as we teach them. Our children were sad that the new student's did not have the items that they were using. Now it really makes it so much easier for me to teach and for all the student's to have the materials that they need. They are able to count one bear at a time just like I do. They can count the bears themselves or they can count the exact color bear that I use. It brings so much joy to see them being able to add or sort the bears as I go along teaching them.
Our younger student's were happy to have the count and match puzzle set. This allows them to count and match the number to the picture. These student's just turned 3 years old and we did not feel safe giving them the small bears to count. Now their parent's pull out the number cards that we are working on that day, and they can show the other student's how they too can count the items on the picture card and match it to the correct number. It is so exciting to see the other student's clap and cheer when they succeed. The smiles are priceless!
Thank you so much not only from myself, but from the parent's for investing in our children's education!”

Funded Dec 3, 2020How exciting it has been for us to be able to get this technology project funded. We are in the process of getting the tablets uploaded and ready for the children to use. With us still being totally virtual, this is going to be a very important teaching tool for our children. This will give them learning, when not in a online class time.
We will be uploading only learning materials like Starfall and ABC Mouse. These are sites that the student's can use to help them recognize the letters of the alphabet. They will also be able to learn words that start with the chosen letter, as well as play a short game to help them learn in a fun way.
Our student's will also be able to access math learning games through these fun sights. They can use this technology to help them reach their learning goals. Their goals consist but not limited too counting, forming groups of greater than and less than. They will also be able to form patterns and do fun games to help them as well.
We really appreciate you investing in our children's education. We as well as the parents want to thank you!”

Funded May 6, 2020This has been a very trying time for our student's. We have been virtual since March 2020 and yes, we are still virtual. I was able to pick up our light up table and new materials from the school. We decided that we would use them in a rotation system. We have 6 all day student's and so we have taken the table and a mixture of the materials to each of our students house. We were able to inform virtually the parent on the use instruction and they have done a wonderful job at helping us complete this in a social distances form. We have done this on a week rotation with a break between the weeks. The student's have been able to find the letters to make their name, show me different shapes that I have ask them for, make patterns and put numbers and letters in order. I was able to complete one on one virtual sessions with the student that had the table for the week. It was allot of fun watching them complete the task! We are so thankful for your donation. This has been hard, but our sweet children have been able to have fun while learning at home. The students and parents have done a wonderful job at taking care of the table and materials. We have taken the steps to clean and wipe down the table and supplies when we picked them up. Thank you for your investment in our children.”

Funded Nov 24, 2020Oh what fun! Our children have been so excited with the arrival of the counting materials. We were able to give counting bears to all our full day students. They have been able to follow along with us as we teach. We use bears to count out the number of the week, make patterns and teach positioning words. They are able to count out and use their very own bears. They have taken such good care of them, making sure that each bear goes to sleep in the bag when we have completed the lesson.
Our half day student's have used the pegs to help them count and sort by color. They also needed help with fine motor skills and the pegs required them to grip tightly to be able to stack them. This has helped to give them strength in their fingers and hands. We have been able to teach them the importance of taking care of their learning materials by picking up after the lesson.
Your investment in our children's education especially during this trying time has been so helpful. We thank you all so much for your kindness and please know that our children and parents really appreciate your gift. Thank you!”

Funded Nov 7, 2020We want to thank you for your investment in our children's education. We are still totally virtual, but our children are working really hard. The kid's along with their parents have been able to get closer to reaching their goals.
We were able to loan out the counting cones, learning lasers and pattern activities to our student's on a two week rotation. A week off was scheduled so that we could clean the manipulatives before the next rotations. We really had fun as we completed one on one virtual sessions with the children. They were able to show us how they could count the cones to form the flavor ice cream cone that I chose. The learning lasers helped us to see if they could rope count and if they could sort their colors.
The light up table manipulatives were also helpful with finding out what we needed to work on with the student. Your donation has been a huge help in teaching our student's through the screen during this trying time. Thank you so much!”

Funded Dec 4, 2019We wish that you could have been in our classroom when we introduced our new Light up table. The children were so excited and loved how we could change the color of the light. We knew that this was going to open up a whole new way of learning for some of our student's.
We are using our table as a center. Our student's have been able to find the various letters to spell their names. We even have a couple of student's, that have spelled their classmates names. They were so excited that they would go over, and ask that student to come see what they had done. The excitement on both of their faces was priceless.
We have also been able to have our younger student's to look at a group of letters and have them pick out the letter that we ask them to find. They would look, find it , and slide it to the top. We would use the remote to change the color when they had found the correct letter. The whole classroom get excited and starts clapping and telling them good job. This has help so much on their self confidence. The job that this light up table has brought to our class is beyond words. Thank you so much for your help in educating our children in such a fun way.”

Funded Nov 17, 2019What an awesome surprise that our student's received! When our floor puzzles and board games came in they were so excited to be able to use them. They did a fantastic job with sharing and taking turns. Our floor puzzles added so much fun with the different theme weeks. We were able to add them as a center for our Dinosaur unit and then again with our Transportation unit. Our visual impaired student's were able to see the curves and straight lines of the puzzles since the puzzles were so big. Seeing them accomplish putting the whole puzzle together and being able to identify the picture was amazing. The board games have been a fun center for our older student's. It has helped with counting goals, colors and also fine motor skills like picking up little game pieces and placing them in certain places. Our children have done a wonderful job with sharing and also realizing that some times you win and some times you loose. They have learned that it is how you play the game that's important. All of these wonderful items have really helped each student in our room. We thank you all so much for donating to our children's education future.”

Funded Jul 26, 2018We would like to thank each one of you for your generous donation for our children. Since we have special needs children, we strive daily to find ways of reaching each one of their goals. The new tablets are an added bonus teaching tool. Many of our student's learn best with hands on activities. After completing some everyday task, then they have earned some exciting table time. They are able to use the tablets to play games and then choose the best answers. They have already shown improvements in learning their ABC's, and colors. Watching them take turns sharing and seeing them get excited about learning is such a precious time. The games are able to reach their attention with the different activities. We really appreciate you investing in our children's education. Your kindness will never be forgotten.”
