My students are almost all low income, African American students living in poverty. Most students can't even afford the simple school supplies needed for the day-to-day tasks in the classroom as well as supplies needed at home to complete homework successfully. It is up to the teachers to get most of the supplies in the classroom as the school does not have a lot of money either.
