  • Hands-on Student Led Learning in Kindergarten

    Funded Nov 20, 2024

My students have been engaged in countless hands-on learning experiences since the materials for this projects were delivered to my classroom. When each packaged arrived, my students' faces brightened with excitement and curiosity. They use the reading materials daily to engage in hands-on learning during reading small groups and centers. Additionally, they used the community helper books to research community helpers and how others have helped their community, and then completed a community project using what they learned. They will continue to use these books as references as they work on writing final product research posters about a community helper of their choice. These materials have provided my students with countless opportunities to engage in self-directed learning throughout the school day. Thank you for donating to my classroom and my students.”

  • Compassion and Community in Kindergarten

    Funded May 31, 2024

Thank you for your donations! My students have joyfully used many of the materials purchased with your donations.

The materials purchased have helped my students build a deep understanding of what it means to show compassion! We have read the books you donated during our morning meeting. These books have shaped our conversations about compassion, and we have created anchor charts in our classroom of what compassion looks like, sounds like, and feels like. We have used the puppets and wooden people to role play how to show compassion in our community, and while using the materials we have practiced showing compassion to each other by using kind words, sharing, and working together!

We are so excited to continue to explore and use the materials you donated throughout the rest of the school year. Thank you!”

    Ms. Paige
