  • Creating a Welcoming Community in a New School

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you so much for funding this project. My students will greatly benefit from the new books, snacks, and supplies next year. This means a lot!

I can't wait to document my students' achievements and all of our engaging learning experiences throughout the year with the new photo printer. It's going to be a great way to build community in my new school.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bradley

  • Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader

    Funded Jan 22, 2022

My students and I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Many of my students are avid readers and will do anything to read new books. They would read for hours if I would allow it! When they first saw the stack of new books funded through this project, they were so excited to start exploring and reading books that were new to them. It really added some excitement to the classroom in the middle of the school year. I can't thank you enough for providing materials that will keep my students engaged and excited to continue their love for reading.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bradley

  • If You Can Read, You Can Learn Anything!

    Funded Sep 18, 2016

Thank you so much for your kind donations. Your donations were used to purchase leveled reading books for my kindergarten classroom. My students are diverse learners with many different needs. Some students enter kindergarten with very few literacy skills, whereas some enter school already reading. Your donations allowed me to purchase books that have been able to meet the needs of all of my students.

My students participate in guided reading groups daily. Guided reading groups provide direct reading instruction to small groups of students with similar needs. By having the opportunity to read books at each students individual reading level, my students are all now reading at or near grade level. The donated books are engaging and my students look forward to reading them during their reading groups. Thank you so much for helping me reach my goal and for providing my class with materials to support my students in learning to read.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bradley

My students need leveled readers that are exciting and engaging. Kindergarten students are expected to independently read on a level 6 by the end of the year. To make this possible, students participate in guided reading groups daily. They are enthusiastic and excited to be learning this new skill. Having both non-fiction and fiction texts will provide them with reading material that is both fun and educational. My students get tired of reading the same, outdated books over and over again. Having more variety during reading instruction will allow my students more opportunities to practice reading books on their level.
