My students live in Marquette, Michigan (in the U.P.). We are the only middle school in town. My students have a passion for reading, but we've no modern or contemporary texts for students to read and love. This would help remedy that! I have 70+ students broken into 2 classrooms, and very few books for them to choose from that might interest them. My goal is to eventually create a sustainable middle school library. We are in a 6-8 school and most of the texts are well below our students' levels (we can't reach 'up' for higher-level books because we are the highest level). Having these great texts would really support our goal of helping our kids learn to love to read.
