  • I read, you read, we all read for growth

    Funded Apr 5, 2014

Thank you so very much for blessing my students!

One of the key aspects of learning to read fluently is being able to hear good reading. These partner reading books that you have so graciously purchased for my students will give students the chance to not only practice reading but to hear their peers read as well. They will be able to work together to teach other how to become better readers.

When I showed the books to my students, they immediately began looking around the room for potential partners and people that they wanted to read with. Thank you for making reading exciting for my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hollingsworth

  • Non-fiction Books Open New Horizons

    Funded Jan 11, 2014

As we move into fully adopting the Common Core State Standards, the need for engaging and exciting non-fiction texts is at an all-time high. These books that you have so graciously blessed my class with have and will continue to meet that need.

When I first showed my students the books, their faces lit up and the excitement was palpable. They were so eager and ready to dig into them that we had to set up a system to make sure that they all got a chance to look at everything.

Thank you so very much for caring about my students and helping them to learn!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hollingsworth

  • Technology Opens Unimaginable Doors

    Funded Sep 25, 2013

I just want to say THANK YOU! once again. Your generosity is humbling, encouraging and inspiring. Thank you so much for what you have done for my students.

Since receiving the iPad mini in the mail, my students interest in reading has soared. They each desperately hope to be the one who gets to use it during our free read time. They also clamor all day to be able to explore it and see how it works.

Our main focus so far has been using it for reading instruction, primarily through non-fiction texts. To be able to pull up a non-fiction book and manipulate it on the iPad has been staggering. Students are engaged, excited and ready to push themselves.

Again, thank you so very much for everything that you have done to encourage me and bless my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hollingsworth

  • Writing Tools Will Help Behavior/Autism Students Be Dragons!

    Funded Oct 20, 2012

Thank you so very much for this amazing gift! I am convinced that it will be revolutionary and change my students' outlook on school.

We have been using the iPad over the past few weeks and it has been a huge success! The DragonSpeak app will be great but I have been even more surprised by something that I did not expect. I was unprepared for the power of having a camera in the classroom at my ready disposal. I have taken to snapping pictures of students as they work so that I can share them with parents at conference time. Having their picture taken seems to be something that my students are not used to and thus it enthralls them. Every time that I take the iPad out, work productivity shoots through the roof as students watch me out of the corner of their eye, hoping beyond hope that I take their picture.

Thank you again for your humble generosity. It has already been felt and will continue to touch the lives of students.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hollingsworth

  • Caldecott Winners Help Behavior/Autistic Students Succeed!!!

    Funded Oct 16, 2012

Good books are the quickest, most dependable, most engaging and most successful way to change a student's outlook on school. Your gift has allowed me to do just that!

Thank you so much for using your time, energy and resources to bless my students even though you've never met any of them. The books are already being used to reach students who had previously written reading off.

The greatest part about books is that they can be used again and again. As a result, these books will be used time and time again over the coming years to reach not only my current students but future students as well.

Again, thank you so very much for your generosity. It has encouraged me and blessed my students beyond belief.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hollingsworth

  • Tables Help Behavior Students Build Community!!!

    Funded Oct 30, 2012

On the very first day that I got the table and was able to set it up, students were begging to use it. They wanted to sit there for breakfast, take their math test and read their books at the table. Numerous teachers came by to "admire it" while the brave ones were willing to admit that they were jealous.

Thank you so much for this amazing blessing to my classroom. I will be able to run academic groups, social skills lessons and parent meetings form this table. These tasks were difficult at best before and impossible at worst.

Your kindness has humbled me and I am so grateful for your generosity. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hollingsworth

  • Sensory Objects Help Behavior Students Modulate Emotion

    Funded Sep 8, 2012

    Thank you so much!

When the box arrived at school, I immediately went back to my room and started putting the lap pads to use. Students responded instantly and behavior has already improved!

Students are so excited that they are asking when their turn is to be able to use the pads and blanket. It's amazing how powerful small tools can be.

Thank you again for passionately caring about my students. I know how scarce financial resources can be and I'm so grateful that you chose to share some with my students and I.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hollingsworth

  • Caldecott Winners Help Behavior/Autistic Students Succeed!!!

    Funded Jun 11, 2012

These books are amazing! They have only been in our room for a few short days and they are already classroom favorites.

My students are passionate learners and they devour new books! These titles will provide previously inaccessible lessons, ideas, examples and inspirations.

Thank you so much for blessing my students and my classroom despite the fact that you have never met them. Please trust me when I say that they are truly special students who deserve every opportunity that they can access. Your gift has made that accessibility more of a reality.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hollingsworth

  • Caldecott Winners Help Behavior Students Succeed

    Funded Sep 17, 2012

Books are one of the most transformative items in our world. As I thought about that sentence, I was tempted to write that "in my life" but the more that I thought about it, the more convinced I became that it could be written as a universal statement.

Books are powerful. They change lives, confidence levels, passions, and the direction of an people's lives.

Books are amazing. They inspire, entertain, challenge and encourage readers.

The books that you have so graciously blessed my class with will be no less amazing. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Hollingsworth
