My students come from a small rural town. We have a higher percentage of Special Education students at our school than the state. A lot of our students receive free/reduced lunch and most don't have Internet at home due to the area not having DSL cable wiring set up. Students also don't have a lot of time to access to the public library where they can use and become familiar with the different programs/software available because the library closes at 5:30 on Mondays through Thursdays. The library doesn't open on Fridays or Saturdays. Students in the area tend to engage in activities dealing with the outdoors because of the make-up of the area. Most students enjoy hunting, horses and showing cattle due to large forests and farms in the area.
