Flexible seating is a new way students can stay motivated, engaged, collaborate, and produce their best work. In my classroom setting, the students are allowed to move seats during independent activity. By allowing them to do this, they become more independent in their choices and make wise decisions. I will set up a rotation station so all students will have the opportunity to see what type of seating is most comfortable to work with. My school site is in an area where most students do not have the opportunity to make choices regarding their education. I'm in an area where both parents work so the student is usually taken care of by the After School program. a daycare, a grandparent, or a neighbor. They are provided with free breakfast and most of the students qualify for free lunch. With this new seating, I think they will find it more rewarding to come to school knowing they have choices. I believe these materials will make a difference in the student learning. For a science lesson they will be working in groups. The lessons are usually project based where they will be sitting and engaged on the activity for periods of time. With this new seating environment it will allow them to participate more openly in a comfortable setting. It will also be a motivational tool to sit independently more often and focus on their tasks. I encourage them to find their comfort zone when coming to school so they will be ready to conquer whatever is given to them,
