Intervention Seating
Funded Aug 14, 2024What an amazing gift my students have received! When my students first walked into the classroom and saw the new seating, they were so excited to get to try them! We had to talk about how to keep them nice and how we were going to use them in our intervention classroom. They were very receptive and excited to get the chance to use them.
When the opportunity came to try them out, they were respectful and took care of them. They shared the seats, cleaned them up afterwards, and made sure they were left neatly for the next group.
Thank you so much for giving students a great place to practice the learning they are working so hard at. It's not always fun to be in an intervention class but our kiddos feel special and this seating makes it exciting to come!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Jackson

Funded Dec 14, 2014I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous donation. Without your help and support, my students would have missed out on some wonderful books and memories that have increased their desire and willingness to learn.
I work at a Title I school which means that many of my students live in poverty. According to statistics, students who live in poverty struggle with reading the most. In my experience, the reason they struggle is because they lack resources in both the classroom and at home. The idea for this project was to allow students the opportunity to fall in love with books by providing them with new and exciting titles that caught their attention. From the minute I opened the boxes for my students, the smiles on their faces showed me that this was one of the best things we could have given them. They were excited to read the books and many of them "fought" to read them first! Kids began chatting about the books they were reading on the playground, during lunch, or while waiting in line in the morning. Some students even begged to take them home to share with their families. Many students began checking out books with the same characters from the library and it was clear that a passion for reading had been born.
Research also shows that reading is one of the biggest indicators of a student's success. Because of this project, my students have found a love for reading, which has put them on the path to success. I know that I won't be able to share this journey with them forever, but as my father has always told me, I am planting shade tress, for which I will never sit under. Thank you for helping me plant these shade trees. My student's and I are forever grateful for your help in giving them the gift of reading. This is a gift they will never forget.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Jackson
