English Language Learners Excel!!
Funded Dec 21, 2020Teaching and learning on a virtual platform has many challenges, including sharing materials with students and families. There have been so many advancements in technology that it may seem like this endeavor should be easier. Unfortunately, my students who are English Language Learners with severe cognitive disabilities have limited skills in navigating technology. BrainPOP ELL was a welcomed addition to the digital resources used to help my students learn.
The videos and units in BrainPOP ELL help get students excited about learning by introducing them to a topic and preparing them for what will come up in the lesson. English Language Learners with disabilities thrive in an environment where routines are consistent even though the topics change. BrainPOP ELL has been a helpful tool for teaching English and a part of our daily routines.
The BrainPOP ELL platform is popular with many of my students' families. The students are so excited about this resource that they access it outside school hours, providing them with even more learning as they "play" the games. In addition, the families of my English Language Learners also benefit from BrainPOP ELL as they continue learning English as well.
Thank you so much for funding this endeavor.”
With gratitude,
