Thank you for supporting my students love for reading and understanding of the world they live in.
I hope to read relevant and engaging books with my students to encourage them to dig deep into the different cultures that make up the world they live in. In addition, these books will help my students build an understanding of who they are.”

THANK YOU! I am so excited for these materials. I can't wait to start reading this book and to begin implementing the strategies in my classroom. I know that this book will have a significant impact on me and my students. I will definitely make my instruction more effective for my students.”

The books that you contributed to my classroom are so loved by my students. We are on our 2nd book and they can't wait to move on to the third one. When my students first saw the books, they couldnt believe that they were going to read all of them. Now, they cant wait to get the next book once we finish a book.
Having copies for each of my students helps since they all read at different paces. Some students have read ahead and finish the book while the rest of us are still half way through. Having their own copy also helps when they write about the book since they need to go back into the book to cite evidence or just to remember what happened in a chapter.
I am so greatful for these books. I know that reading the books as a class will have an impact on my students that will stay with them for a long time. Thank you for the stories they are experiencing because of you generosity.”
Thank you so much for your support of our schools garden. Our garden has been growing and both teachers and students are benefitting from it. Students have the opportunity to work and learn from the garden, and our teacher get to engage along with the students in the weekly lessons. In addition to that, teachers are enjoying the garden's beauty and tranquility during lunch.
Thank you again for your support.”

My students have truly enjoyed the books that you donated to our class. We have taken the time to read some of the book out loud and have had some great conversations about them. My students have been able to relate, in one way or another, to the experiences in the books.
My students have been inspired by these books to start writing their own stories. They see the importance of personal narratives and the need for more books about people of color and that of different experiences. Because of these these books, they know that their voice is important.
These books have opened up a great opportunity for writing in my classroom.”

The tables that you funded for our garden are absolutely beautiful. They have made our garden look and feel so warm and welcoming. Students have commented how they look so cute and how they are enjoying using them.
The tables have made the garden area an outside classroom. Students can work outside observing the flowers and vegetable that grown in the garden. The tables are not only used for science but also for art and reading. This area has become a place where students can learn and create.
Thank you for giving my students an area for creativity.”

My students enjoyed the much needed materials. Those who were with me from day one to those who arrived throughout the following months have fully enjoyed the donated materials. For my students, having pencils, sharpeners and post-its, has helped them organized themselves and stay on task longer.
Having all they need at their desks has limited the distractions and limited the amount of time students spend at the electric sharpener. I have seen more students completing work and less situations arising from students walking around the room while going to the pencil sharpener.
I, just like my students, am happy that you funded our classroom.”

My students have been so excited to have their work up on our bulleting board. Their work looks so nice with all of the cut-outs and decorations we have been able to add.
Usually, my students don't like to have their work up on the bulleting board but with all the great decorations we can now make, they cant wait to have it up.
I have seen my students put more effort into their work and be more motivated to complete their work ahead of time since they know it will be displayed on the board in the hallway. They can't wait for the next assignment. This has made me very happy.”

My students were so excited to see all the great P.E. equipment. We started with the basketballs. We are working on dribbling and controlling the balls. We are slowly moving to playing games without fouling and traveling. They were so eager to use the wiffle balls and scoops. They practiced passing it to each other and catching it. This was fun to see since it takes a lot of hand and eye coordination but after a couple of tries, they were expert on it. The boys started to play a game, 4 on 4, similar to soccer and lacrosse but with the wiffle balls and the scoops. That was fun to see!
My students and I are so grateful for your donation.”

My school is predominately Latino (95%) and about the same percentage of students receive free or reduced price lunch. It is a dual language Spanish/English school. About 15% of the student are from Guatemala and speak Mam. This particular population of students are learning both Spanish and English.
We are considered a very welcoming school. We are working on challenging our students in every capacity. We have recently began focusing on science as a means to help our students reach their potential. My students are the translators and interpreters for their families, and many times they are the first to learn to read, write, and learn about the scientific world. My students are generally happy and extremely resilient. They come with the desire to learn and succeed.
