  • Communication is Key--Give Us A Voice

    Funded Nov 30, 2015

Wow, our materials arrived last month. The students were excited to carry the boxes down to the classroom. We opened up the boxes and the students all knew it was ink for our printer. After we opened the boxes, one of my students wrote "Donors Choose 2015" on each box so that we would know how old each cartridge is and that they were gifted from generous supporters like you.

When teachers individualize the communication boards with colorful icons they are visually interesting to the students which helps them engage in the communication process. Each board is created to meet the specific needs and desires for individual students, and as their needs change so do their boards. Having plenty of ink for our printers allows us to do this with ease. I have attached several photos for you to see how each communication board is unique and has been designed for individual use.

Thank you to each one of you for supporting us by donating to our Donors Choose project. Communication is key to the success of our students. Our school and students have an enriched program from your generous donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Haroldson

  • Let's Give Them Something To Talk About

    Funded Dec 21, 2014

Our students are always excited to be able to communicate what they need and share what they are interested in. Communication boards help students who are unable to verbally express what they want or need. Having ink for our printer allows us to create and customize the communication boards for each student. The students use their boards as they participate in class activities, socialize with peers, and also to make their wants and needs known .

I am very grateful that you supported our project. Printer ink allows us to update the student's communication boards and story boards to match the curriculum we are working on. The color ink helps to make the boards user friendly and visually appealing.

Our classroom has diverse needs and learning capabilities and by supporting our project you have helped to make students succeed.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Haroldson
