I teach 26 fourth graders in an urban district where materials are scarce. My students come from low income families who face many hardships everyday. There is a lack of materials and technology for these students to use. Regardless of these limitations, my students are eager to learn. We have begun a reader's and writer's workshop curriculum, and continue to need materials so the workshop model can continue with fidelity.
