The children I teach are lovely individuals, whom through no fault of their own are born into a world where they have to be afraid to go outside, have at least 1 relative incarcerated and are poor. My children's day does not start out like my own son's. The children in my classroom have to get themselves up for school and usually a younger sibling or 2. Getting the children in a classroom is a struggle within itself.
