  • Fresh and Clean

    Funded Nov 13, 2023

Having supplies to keep our . It is always exciting to see boxes come to the classroom and when the children saw items they felt good - especially with the bags for their sleep mats.

Our students have enjoyed eating their meals and playing in a fresh and clean environment thanks to your generosity. We saw a rise in attendance which impacts academic performance.

Thank you again for helping us keep our rooms clean. Every time we look around and use the tables it makes an impact on the children's learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Seubert

  • Hands-On at Home

    Funded May 28, 2020

I am so excited to tell you about the impact your generous donation made on our students. As you know, the whole of NYC was on lockdown from March until the end of the school year. These items gave the children more than just an opportunity to have educational materials at their disposal. They let the children and their parents know that people care about what they are going through and where they are going with their education. It took a "village" to get these items into their hands. From you who purchased the items, the teacher who bagged them up, and the custodian who met the parents and distributed the materials, everyone played a part. It was a truly meaningful gift.

Upon receiving everything the children began building, creating and learning. When we met on Zoom the students proudly displayed their work. They were able to talk about shapes and get more involved with interacting during the online classes. In addition, the children were able to use these materials all summer long at home and can still get great use out of them while they continue learning in Kindergarten.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Seubert

When we left school before quarantine I never thought we would not be back again until September. Living in a low-income neighborhood, most of the students do not have educational materials at home. The majority of our learning has been digital. At first, this was working, but now that schools will not reopen until September, they need more to be ready for kindergarten. Developmentally, Pre-K children should be building and creating. They should be experiencing trial and error to learn how things work. These materials will give them a chance to put their minds to work in a real-life way. These materials are open-ended and will allow them to access all subject areas, but especially math and letter recognition. With these materials in each child's home, I can assign developmentally appropriate activities and know that they can be completed. They will also be used to help students continue their learning through the summer months as well.
