Something to Write Home About!

My students are loving our new multifunction printer. They are finishing a writing project which they will be sending home at the end of the quarter. After editing their handwritten pieces, they are typing their sentences and printing them. They will illustrate the pages and then share them with their parents. That's just one mini-project.

Students are beginning to type about what they are learning in class with the assistance of teacher-generated templates on the computer. Ideally, all students would be able to share their comments over a blog or via e-mail with their parents. Unfortunately, most of our students do not have access to computers at home. Your generous donations have made it possible for them share their computer-generated documents.

And what fun they are having learning to use the printer! They are quite pleased with the color printing, as the word processing program they use provides them with pictures of the words they type.
