Food for Focus
Funded Sep 26, 2016Thank you so much for your donations!! They will appreciate all the snacks and, in turn, be more focused on their work! My students rarely come to school full and often ask for snacks and/or complain that they are hungry. Having the snacks in the classroom will keep students in the class, working, and focused on their schoolwork to help them become successful in school and in life.”

Manipulatives for Vocational Success
Funded Sep 15, 2015Thank you so much for donating money towards new resources for my classroom. My students have used all of the materials already and really enjoy them! We are using our classroom box to help learn to be more responsible and organized on our own. Each student has a box and each student is responsible for their own work. My caseload has the opportunity to use the headphones to listen to music as they work and keep them focused, while blocking out the noise. My class absolutely loves the snap circuits and is giving my students the opportunity to follow directions, work as a team, and learn about science.
My students were extremely excited when we got our donors choose shipment in. My students we actually surprised I was able to give them new headphones! They also were enthusiastic about learning, especially with new materials.
We are currently using the pegboards and snap circuits to learn work related skills that they may use at a job. For example, following step by step instructions, collaborating with one another, completing tasks accurately, an much more. We will continue to use these activities to build on their sensory regulation, work related skills, and one to one correspondence to gain more independence.”
With gratitude,
Ms. K
