My fifth-grade students are of varied abilities, but each and every one of them has their own strengths that they bring to our classroom community. Just as in any classroom, I have students who are always on task, along with students who need many reminders to complete a task. In addition, I have a few students who, at times, have trouble paying attention when directions are being given, even when the "distraction" is something as minor as a child next to them flipping pages in a notebook. Our school serves children in grades K-5. We have a very diverse population of students. Our school is a wonderful place where community is certainly a word that we embrace. We work together to ensure that when students leave our school they leave as respectful, community-oriented, caring individuals who use their knowledge to spread light into the world.
