These are children who come from low income families. Some have broken homes while others may be struggling with issues like hunger, personal hygiene, parent abuse or neglect. Some live with other adults and not their biological parents. All these factors play an important role in their learning path; however, I can still see that happy kid that each one of them have inside. These kids are like any other kids, they want to learn and play, but most importantly they need to be loved. They need to feel that there is someone out there who cares for them and is willing to help them and be their friend. My school is located in a "not-so-nice" neighborhood, but it is a wonderful school. The teachers and staff care about the well being of the kids. Unfortunately, we don't have the funds needed to provide each kid with all the necessary tools they deserve, However, we do strive to provide them with that one special thing they want the most: love.
